My photography is about capturing the moments and the essence of the person in those moments.

Melissa Dawn Photography was a great find! We traveled to Nags Head from Kansas City for our wedding, having never been there previously. Melissa was very helpful and maintained great communication as we made plans from afar.
Though not in our original plan, she arrived early to capture the ladies getting ready, and stayed until we were confident we had all of the pictures we wanted. She was very flexible and accommodating to our requests, all while making suggestions based on her experience of where to capture some great shots. When we got our pictures (within a few weeks of the wedding -- fast!), we were amazed by the quality of the photographs, and the wonderful shots she was able to capture (including those of a couple of tired, wiggly boys we adore!).
One of my favorite things about Melissa was that in addition to taking great photos and capturing our special day so beautifully, she was so excited and supportive throughout the whole process. I would highly recommend her again and again.

She has the most amazing eye to catch the perfect moment and picture. In all of her work you can tell that what she does with her pictures that she truly loves it. She is outstanding and the pictures speak for them self.

Melissa drove over 2 hours to photograph my wedding! She stayed as long as I wanted her to and made sure to get all the shots I requested, of course plus many more. She is fantastic about getting to know your likes and dislikes in order to get the best picture possible. Melissa always goes above and beyond to make sure the customer is happy with the outcome. The quality of her pictures is always amazing. Looking through my wedding album makes me feel as if I'm going through the day all over again! My favorite thing about Melissa is her personality, she makes the experience fun and is so easy to be around. You'll never feel awkward getting pictures done by Melissa!
