Chef Kevin is amazing. I hosted a small 20-person happy hour last week- he was able to create a menu of finger foods and deliver quickly, he accommodated our dietary needs, vegetarian, some gluten- free, etc. he was on time for delivery, and even brought me all of the servingware (and table cloths I could need-- I didn't even ask him for it. He'd thought of everything)! Most of all though, people loved the food- it was beautiful, colorful, delicious and fresh. He has a new repeat customer!
Chef Serge was eager to please and worked with us throughout the planning process to design a menu that captured our vision for a family wedding dinner. He worked around a number of dietary needs (gluten free and vegetarian options), incorporated vegetables from our garden into several of the recipes, and he even adapted some of the recipes for the kids. The food and service were excellent!
Maribel and her team were amazing! She is way more than just a caterer! She made our wedding beautiful, well organized, and stress free. The food was great! Couldn't be more satisfied!
I cannot recommend Eleven Courses more. I worked with Megan as my coordinator and she was such a delight! She was very professional and easy-going to work with and answered all emailed questions quickly--I can honestly say that throughout the process I felt I was in good hands. I never felt uncomfortable asking about pricing or any strange questions or requests we had and the guidance Megan provided was much appreciated. We traveled a couple hours to Owings Mills, MD (we live in Springfield, VA) to attend our tasting at their offices. We met Jim and Megan in person, and the tasting decided it for my husband and me. We immediately knew these were the caterers for our wedding. The food was incredibly delicious and now, several weeks out after the wedding, our guests are still talking about how tasty everything was. Their prices are amazingly reasonable, especially given how beautifully presented and delicious their meals are--they have an affordable price point, however, the service and food delivered is that of the super-pricy, high-end caterers (services which I often use in my firm and am well-familiar with). It was very much appreciated how they didn't nickel and dime us and were proactive in helping out and finding ways to make the wedding special. We consider ourselves incredibly fortunate to have hired Eleven Courses for our caterers and intend to hire them again, should we plan another huge celebratory bash.
I was tasked with planning a last minute holiday party for my Coast Guard Headquarters office and assumed I would be scrambling to find a caterer. Luckily I came across Thumbtack, which put me in touch with Tortoise & Hare. Tortoise & Hare provided me with a wide variety of options that were all within my price range, which was greatly appreciated since my budget was limited. I spoke with Katie to make our arrangement, and she allowed me to keep it open ended while I finalized our headcount and menu selections. Katie also provided me the security information to get the caterers onto base, which I assume is an unusual request. Erik handled the set up the day of the event, and he arrived early and made sure everything was in order before departing. The food was good and there was more than enough to go around. We were even able to hook up the base facilities team with lunch. Overall it was a pleasure to work with Tortoise & Hare, and I would strongly recommend them to anyone looking to cater an event.
N&M Divine provided for our office's Halloween Happy Hour. This included hor d'oeuvres, entrees, and a bar tender. The service was excellent, the food was delicious, and they "catered" to our every wish... no pun intended.
I recently used Dinner on Demand to cater my graduation party. Not only was Chef B exceptionally professional but her food was delicious; two things you want from a chef! My favorite part of this process was collaborating with Chef B about the menu. I’m a one-note cook, making the same boring meals weekly, but together she helped me to come up with a menu that would satisfy my family and accommodate two of my friends’ special diets—one is vegan and the other has a gluten allergy. Typically party food for me is wings, chips and dip and some hot dogs and hamburgers. For my party, Chef B assembled muffuletta sliders on Hawaiian bread as the opening act. No boring chips and dip here! While we noshed on the sliders she sliced up the roasted brisket which was encrusted with garlic and sea-salt and served with chimichurri sauce. She also sautéed some sweet potato clear noodles with veggies and put together a mixed green salad with sliced pear, smoky bacon, blue cheese crumbles and chopped egg—a lovely mix of tangy and sweet. To top off this fantastic meal she made a homemade flan that was so tasty, folks in my family who “don’t eat that kind of stuff,” were tearing into the rich vanilla-laden custard with so much gusto, I had to put some to the side and stash in the back of the fridge. I would use Chef B’s services again. When you watch her cook you know this is what she loves to do and that love comes through the food.
I hired Esther to cater a dinner party to celebrate our Mom's 80th birthday. From the first encounter, Esther was very accommodating. We were expecting 50 guests, some with food allergies ranging from nuts to shell fish. Esther assured me that she would create a menu that would be elegant and delicious. And did she deliver! The event took place on 12/31/2016. The food was amazing! She sent her employee, Crystal, to handle the event. From the moment Crystal arrived until the moment she left, she went above and beyond, and made the evening a huge success! Crystal was warm and professional, and worked tirelessly to provide us with outstanding service. We were so impressed with this amazing woman, we had to give her a round of applause before she left. Thank you, Epicurean Nutrition, for making our event a HUGE success. We will definitely call you again for our next event. Happy New Year!!
Chef Matt is absolutely amazing! I have been using his personal chef services and I can honestly say that he has been a blessing in our life. I first learned about Chef Matt on an online community of moms in Old Town, Alexandria. Because I had a small baby and no time to cook, I decided to order our Thanksgiving meal from him. I was so happy I did – the food was absolutely fantastic and everyone at the dinner table raved about it. In fact, it was the best Thanksgiving meal that I have ever had. Since then I have been ordering from him on a regular basis. Chef Matt’s food is fresh, healthy and out-of-this-world delicious. His recipes are very diverse and incorporate a lot of international influences, which I love. Everyone in my home is so excited when we get the food from Chef Matt. I wish I knew about him long time ago, especially after we had our baby and struggled with finding the time to cook. I know that he teaches cooking classes and I hope that one day I will have the opportunity to learn how to cook amazing food directly from Chef Matt. I wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone looking for personal chef services!
Must try the afghan platter and Boulanee baunjaun. Both were a hit at my work party! Nasrin was able to accommodate for gluten free and vegetarians dishes nicely too. I would reccomend again as a caterer.
Sandra was fantastic! I hired her to prepare a gluten-free plated dinner for my parents' 60th birthday party - 6 adults and 2 preschoolers. She was pleasant to work with and efficient as we went back and forth on details and logistics. On the day of the event, she arrived with all the materials she needed and got right to work. My family was able to hang out and enjoy each other's company as Sandra cooked, set the table, plated and served the food, and cleaned up afterwards. And the food was fantastic! My sister-in-law raved about the flourless chocolate cake with vanilla bean whipped cream, "this is the dessert I didn't know I was waiting for my whole life!" Everyone really enjoyed the cuban salad with avocado and chicken enchiladas with mexican style rice and tomatillo salsa. And there were even leftovers! When Sandra left, the kitchen was nice and tidy and all the leftovers were labeled and put away in the fridge. What sets Sandra apart is her thoughtfulness: I really appreciated that she made sure everything was gluten free and even tested the recipe out ahead of time! She brought activity kits for the preschoolers. And she brought placemats and napkin rings as well.
I cannot more highly recommend Vera, both for own knowledge and skills in preparing food, but also for her kind, encouraging manner in instructing a "novice" in the kitchen. When I was introduced to Vera, I had recently been diagnosed with celiac disease, which had necessitated a complete overhaul of my eating habits. That "lifestyle" change was complicated by the embarrassing reality that I had never really learned to cook in the first place. Just after we met, Vera invited me to attend a marvelous Capitol Hill social event, for which she had prepared some of the food. Knowing that I had to be gluten-free, she included a wonderful basket of Auntie Oyes Petite Rice Bread Muffins, made from rice flour (instead of wheat). They were a BIG hit at the party with everyone! When I told her I wanted to learn how to make those little muffins for myself, she invited me into her own kitchen, and graciously and patiently walked me through all of the steps to prepare her wonderful recipe.
Chef Giovanni is not only a creative and dynamic chef, he is also a warm person. I was so relieved to welcome Chef Giovanni at my house for my dinner party, he put me at ease with his calm demeanor and ideas. We had been exchanging emails and texts the week prior to the event, he was responsive unlike other chefs I had worked with in the past. Chef had also been tasked to provide a meal for a pescatarian, gluten-free guest, and a no shell fish guest. When Chef arrived, he took several inexpensive bouquets from Trader Joes and transformed them into stunning centerpieces for my dining room table. The entire dining room morphed into a chic bistro that looked like it should have been in the south of France as opposed to Maryland. Once the first guest arrived, the smell of bouillabaisse was permeating the house and the guests were excited by the aroma but also the drinks and amuse-boushe Chef had prepared for their arrival. The amuse-boushe was phyllo dough stuffed with spiced lamb. It was crunchy on the outside with flavors of raisins, spices and lamb on the inside. This was an exceptional way to start our culinary journey! Once the guests were seated and wine was poured, the appetizer was served. It was not my favorite combination of flavors but others seem to enjoy it. Next the main course, the bouillabaisse was served. I was stunned to see how beautiful the bouillabaisse was prepared; with cilantro and lime on top and was chocked full of lobster, crab, scallops, fish. My guests were asking him for the recipe for the rue and the steps to making such an intriguing meal. The dessert was also nicely done, my guests really enjoyed the presentation and the taste. Chef Giovanni talked about what he made, helped serve the guests. He also helped pour the wine and kept the night flowing. Chef Giovanni also left me with a spotless kitchen which was the perfect end to a perfect night. I am a customer very happy with a first-time experiment with inviting a chef into my home. I think it is a great way to entertain without breaking the bank. When you consider how much time and preparation that goes into an evening like this, I feel that Chef Giovanni provides quality ingredients and exceptional service for a reasonable rate.
We worked with Chef Wendy on my daughter's wedding reception in April 2017. She was one of the registered caterers at the Newton White Mansion, which is fairly selective about the caterers they allow. Chef Wendy was very easy to work with, she kept in constant communication during the planning process, was very responsive and professional. Her tasting was lovely and accommodating to our schedule. Even during some last minute changes and guest list additions, she made adjustments for us that many caterers would not have considered. Wendy was very flexible in meeting our needs for a brunch menu, and she made excellent recommendations for the dishes to be offered. She was very reasonably priced, including having a full staff to set up, cook omelets, serve the other dishes and appetizers, and completely clean up. The food was yummy, especially the omelets, chicken and waffles, and the desserts. Staff was very professional and courteous. Chef Wendy's recommendations for guest traffic flow and serving timing were extremely helpful. She was wonderful to work with, and I would certainly work with her again.
I have not yet experienced the food, but I was very pleased with Dashawn's eagerness to obtain my business. Dashawn presented me with an a la carte vegan and vegetarian menu that was every helpful to me. He even went the extra mile to accommodate me with vegan and gluten free desserts. These healthy choices will be a welcomed surprise and compliment to my upcoming BBQ for my vegan and vegetarian guests. And I am sure all my guest will partake and enjoy the healthier selections. I'm looking forward to the event!
Chef Anna did an incredible job catering a wonderful culinary experience in my home for 25 friends. We had some dietary restrictions such as dairy free and gluten free and she curated a delicious menu that satisfied everyone's needs. She was also a pleasure to work with throughout the process - responsive, creative, and extremely professional. I look forward to working with her again.
Elizaveta is a fabulous cook and makes every effort to meet complex dietary needs. Gluten free, low carb, picky 8-year olds . . . Eliza always came up with the right dishes to kept everyone happy!

Really great authentic Italian food. The portions were great we ordered full pans and some half pans. The food was warm once it arrived. They also brought us plates and untensils for free. --- the delivery guy was helpful with setting up!!
