Nema really really helped me a lot. I ended up passing the course with the grade I wanted (B). He was able to identify my weakness (algebra) and we worked to improve it, he would give me problems related to my weakness so that I would do good on the main problems which were calc related. Nema was very patient with me, knowing that my mother tongue is not english, he would find easy ways to explain the word problems which were one of my main difficulties too. He also taught me shortcuts to solve some problems such as U substitution. He really knows how to teach/tutor and he cares about the student, Nema made sure I understood the topics during our sessions and if not he would give homework so I could practice more. His availability is 5 stars, he was available to help during texts and calls whenever he could. There would be breaks during our sessions which help me to get more focused, Nema has good sense of humor and knows how to keep a person calm and confident, I've got into many situations where I was very nervous or insecure about an exam/quiz and he got me very calm, secure and confident about myself in math. I don't know how to thank him about his help but if I need help in another math related course I'll definitely ask him for help.

I hired Mougy to work with me to write a paper in a graduate level quantitive analysis class I was taking. Even though he was not familiar with the exact subject matter he took the time to learn what he could in the short time I had to prepare it. Not only was he the reason I got an A on the paper, but I learned more in the few weeks we worked together than I did in the class. I would recommend him to anyone and I am looking forward to working with him again in a statistics class I will be taking later this year. I must also state that his prices are more than reasonable considering he also continued to work with me via phone and email when we did not have the time to get together and work on solving my questions. Anyone with the appropriate knowledge can tutor students. What sets Marybeth and A Step Up apart is her passion and genuine desire to see students grow and learn to their fullest potential, which she sees as unlimited. She combined her impressive teaching background and teaching style with her patience and calming and humble personality to put my children at ease and allow them to get the most out of her expertise and smart strategies. I'm so grateful for her and would pay any amount knowing how she has equipped my children with the knowledge, learning strategies and love of learning that will benefit them for life!

My 17 year old son is a fairly tough customer when it comes to interacting with academic support, fortunately for us, Will Spach happened to be our first experience with Varsity Tutors. Will definitely has a professional presence about him that earned him credibility with both my wife and I as well as my side early on in our first meeting. He immediately assessed my sons strength and weaknesses and was able to zero in on the tutoring plan that brought my son’s scores up by 200 points in 8-9 weeks. I highly recommend Will Spach for any high school each student looking to improve their college SAT scores. Mike

Andrew Sun To whomever this concerns, Before I signed up with this tutoring program, I was not very good academically. In fact, I was the worst in the toolshed. Knowing that I have no time to lose and my bleak future is upon me, I did what many people think it's best; To join the military. I didn't know what to expect of the navy to be honest, so I was unaware of the test you need to take called the asvab. My heart sank a little. I began searching on the Internet, looking for a tutor (especially on math) until I found out about Theo. Theo is the CEO for student circle and unlike other tutors; he is the only one that stood out. He is understanding, ambitious, and kind, but most importantly he can relate to you, creating a special bond which prompts you to succeed. So I explained to him my situation and he set me up with another tutor by the name of Xin. Right off the bat both of us got along and he helped me through two grueling months. There were times when I wanted to give up, but he was there for me. The funny thing is, he is going through an exam as well during my time with him, so he is the hardest working tutor I have ever came across. I swear, these two do actually care about me because when I took the asvab, I scored high enough to achieve some of the most coveted jobs the navy has to offer! These two will forever be part of my family. Student circle has the best sessions as well as memories. Thank you. Andrew

About

As a Curriculum and Instruction (Writing) graduate student, I worked as a tutor of higher education writers and was able to reckon the gaps that existed in what the curriculum-specific research communicated and what the educators of the students I tutored responded to students' written products with. Then, using my own analytical skills, I fashioned instruction and tutoring that provided a comprehensive message that was able to compensate for any systemic shortcomings.

Mary worked with my son (a sophomore in high school) for nine weeks, and the change in my son's confidence with writing improved significantly. Starting in first grade he developed a dislike for writing, which over the years turning into almost a phobia. He was so intimidated by the process, that he would rather fail than turn in an essay. As a result, he never really learned HOW to write, and his anxiety increased. Mary worked with him, starting with the basics of how to map out and organize a persuasive essay. What took him hours before, he was able to accomplish in less than half an hour. It was very empowering, and helped him considerably with facing writing tasks. One thing that I didn't expect with a writing tutor was Mary's incorporation of subtle life coaching. She had him examine his motivations and his goals. They even did personality testing. I think it was very eye-opening for him to have the chance to look at himself from a different vantage point. Her approach is very supportive and validating. She knows what to ask to make you (both the student and the parent) feel important and interesting. Finally, one of the things I appreciated most as a parent, was that she sent me an email after every session detailing what they had done and explaining her plans for the next session. I can't recommend her highly enough.
