Introduction: I am a vocalist and voice teacher, and I live in Fairfax, VA. I perform, teach and love what I do! My foundation and technique is in both Classical and Jazz vocal styles. My experience and versatility in classical and contemporary styles of singing has allowed me to delve deeper into the abilities and colors of the voice. I am able to pass on healthy technique to my students regardless of what style they are singing in. With a healthy vocal foundation, you can apply good technique across genres and discover your true voice. The voice is a fascinating instrument with many tools for expression. I invite you to discover your own voice and how to use it efficiently throughout your registers. Whether you want to work on using your chest voice in a healthy way, learn arias, bossa nova tunes or want to sing beautiful pop songs you like, I am open to it all. I love good music and sharing it with good people. I teach kids (age 8 and up), teenagers and adults.

I have heard Gina singing in Jazz clubs and restaurants around DC. I have heard her sing Jazz, Bossa Nova, and Tango music. She has a small body, but a very big and powerful voice that makes you do a double take as soon as she begins singing. Even though she performs all around DC, she is very modest and very generous and sweet. Her personality is great and encouraging for teaching voice to little kids and adults.

Ms. Mirenda is talented, knowledgable, patient, inspiring, and a professional who conveys honest feedback. Ms. Mirenda has provided private jazz vocal instruction to me for the past six months, and it is my intention to continue working with her for the next decade if we can keep her in the national capital region. Besides her gifted voice, Ms. Mirenda has inspired me to continue with my dream. Her most precious attribute is her dedication to her students as well as her dedication to her own vocal instrument. I would like more students to experience her able instruction, which will indubitably result in improvement in their musical talents.

I have been taking vocal lessons from Ms. Gina at Heart Beats for about a month now, and I can honestly say that have improved! I have learned many techniques from Ms. Gina that have helped me discover wonderful things that I never though I could do. Ms. Gina genuinely cares about her students and ensures their success. She is very relaxed and makes me feel comfortable to sing with her. Not only is she a great teacher, she is a phenomenal singer! I would love to continue her classes as long as possible.

What types of customers have you worked with?
I teach both beginner piano and voice lessons. I focus on helping my students find their natural voice and undoing any unhealthy or forced habits they may have picked up along the way. Depending on the student's interest, I also teach solfege syllables and music theory to help them read music.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Be sure that the voice teacher has credentials: a Bachelor's degree, for example. And that they will teach you healthy technique. You want your voice to be in good hands.
