Brick or Stone Repair
He did a good job repairing our steps. The total came out higher than the initial quote, but it was still reasonable. He was very responsive to my inquiries (unlike a few other contractors I spoke with). He was professional and courteous and the steps are much safer now.May 23, 2017VerifiedDanrocks Home Services's reply
Thank you Katie for the excellent review! I really liked the work.

Garage Door Repair
Didn't show up, didn't call. When he did call, he said that he fell asleep. Offered to do the job another day. I declined and found a more reliable contractor.Jun 28, 2017Verified
Dan installed 3 very long custom made floating shelves. He did quality work! He used great materials and the final project looks amazing. Can definitely recommend him!Mar 13, 2019Verified
Roof Repair or Maintenance
Little slow getting here but he was good at getting the job done. He was in correspondence with me every day so I knew he had not forgotten me and he would show up which he did.Aug 29, 2018Verified
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I am usually much lower cost than other companies. Having a very good idea of what you want before you even post a request on Thumbtack will get you better quote results.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? Most of my jobs are unique, one-of-a-kind projects. If I send a bid, just text me or call me back or send a message. I try to respond right away. A few things to consider: Know what you want. Its hard to nail down a price if you aren't sure. For example, a chain link fence might be $2500 but a wood and wire fence in the same place might only be $1800. Also, know what accessories you'll need. Another thing, submit separate Thumbtack requests for different jobs. Like, don't combine plumbing and carpentry, or electrical and painting, etc.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I learned from the best, and I am continually keeping up with building trends and materials changes. I was a physics major in college and an electronics technician in the Navy, but I ended up with a major focus on quality control and I guess that makes me a stickler for details.
