In every art class taken at 'Christine M Jenkins Fine Art' ... I have learned a new insight, perspective and techniques in art class that I never knew before. I appreciate her personal style and experience in teaching art.
The concept was great. The only constructive feedback I would provide would be the following: 1. The brushes that were provided were all thick. I would suggest making sure each person has a thinner brush with which to write considering one of the paintings chosen had words in it. (Also, I would suggest providing a better variety of paintings that speak to the styles of the attendees.) 2. When providing guidance to an art student, I would suggest not taking the brush from his/her hand and then painting on the canvas for them. It diminishes his/her sense of ownership in the project and doesn't help build confidence. Describing technique or even having a canvas on which to demonstrate the concept so that the person can observe would be better options. This will reinforce the concept that was being taught: "art is an expression of a personal perspective." Otherwise, Regina was personable and positive with everyone. The addition of snacks was nice touch, and everyone had a nice, relaxing time. Thank you for taking a photo at the end. We'll always remember the experience fondly.
I have worked with Joyce on many web design colaberations and enjoyed every project. Joyce's knowedge of the internet and all aspects of web design is fanaminal. Awesome art work by Bumble Bee Studio...I have 3 pieces hanging on my office wall & I get so many complements. The art work I have gives me a feeling of happiness. Love, Love, Love your work & working with you Joyce!
My children attended an art camp under Leslie's instruction. Both went in a bit cautious as artists but eager to learn. We were amazed by the progress they made artistically in one short week - and by the confidence they each gained in their abilities and ideas. They each have a framed canvas hanging at home - my daughter has 2! - and they were nearly as excited at learning framing techniques as they were with producing the art. For what my children brought home in materials and finished art work, the class was very reasonably priced. I HIGHLY recommend Leslie's art classes and would happily enroll my children again.
Nina taught a number of drawing, painting, and sculpture classes for my homeschooling group. Since our children were different ages, she planned a lesson for the older or more capable students as well as one for the younger students, and in that way she was able to accommodate several different age groups with the help of a supervising parent. Nina's thoughtful suggestions to each student brought out individual abilities, besides the basic skills that she addressed. She was particularly adept at bringing self-conscious and reluctant students into the art arena.
