Overall, Tony did good work for a very fair price (lower than several other estimates). I hired Tony for a very budget kitchen remodel. We didn't change flooring or layout, but took down a wall and soffits, rearranged upper cabinets, installed butcher block counters and bead board paneling in multiple areas, built some open lower shelving, added in canned lights and undercabinet lights, and completed lots of other finishes. In some ways, Tony absolutely went above and beyond - he searched Habitat for Humanity Restore for counter top deals while we were trying to determine the best counter type, he sourced great corbels off craigslist, he reinvented one of our upper cabinets by adding nice shelving to the side, and his communication was fabulous the entire process. Tony would always answer phone calls, send texts, and send along progress via pictures, which I really, really appreciated. But, there are definitely a couple of critical, irreparable errors, that could have been avoided with better foresite. He installed my undermount sink as an overmount without asking and now it cannot be fixed (they tried a couple times to fix it but the cut of the counter wasn't clean enough to make it work). And he was supposed to use some flooring that was going to be covered up by open shelves to repair flooring from the wall removal but he forgot to get the floor out before the shelves were built. He did find a floor that is a decent match but it's not perfect. There are also some attention to detail issues (quick/sloppy painting on cabinets, nails not covered on bead board, countertop seams not very tight, etc). But I'm also admittedly SUPER picky, so I think these are forgivable since Tony really did try to fix all of these things. In the end, I am super happy with my kitchen, and while it's not perfect, it is one million times better than before and still a great outcome for the price.
We were upgrading (but not renovating) our kitchen, with used wooden cabinets. The cabinet sizes were uneven and our house's walls are tricky, being plaster and 100 years old. Nas Construction did an excellent, detail-oriented job of removing existing laminate cabinets and installing the new/used cabinets. The installation is very solid. They were easy to work with and I'd hire them again.
World Wide Roofing installed aluminum and vinyl wrapping all over fascia and also replaced rotted wood where needed. They additionally found some other actual roof issues and fixed them. Overall I found their prices to be very reasonable, they don't seem to oversell you on things which is a quality I value and appreciate a lot in contractors. And they follow up on their work of something needs to be looked at again or slightly corrected. I will definitely consider them for future roof related work! Thanks Luke and Jonathan!
I hired RB to repair drywall which included knicks in @ four places plus three holes from door knobs hitting into the drywall; repair wooden gate which included re-nailing to slates (+ RB further fortified gate a little extra at no charge); drywall repair over stove from water/ heat damage; installed 3 door stops; screwed on two vents (no charge) and repaired part of the fascia/ soffit on roof which was disconnecting from roof. He arrived when he said, did more than I asked him to do, finished early, repaired the drywall very well/ no visible signs, and quoted a reasonable price on the jobs I hired him to do. I would hire him again.
I got several estimates for gutters and gutter covers: Villatoro roofing not only gave me the best price, but he did not try and over sell me. My gutters were fine and all I needed was them secured with brackets to the house and covers. He was the only one that actually got on the roof to inspect and the only one who checked the wood under the fascia to make sure it wasn't damaged or rotten; others just said it needed to be replaced without actually checking it.
I hired Thomas because our gutter and soffit were coming loose. He immediately gave us a quote and a time he could come the following day. Thomas arrived on time, assessed the job, and told us how long it would take to complete the job. While he worked, it became apparent that the task was more complicated than we initially thought... there was some rotting wood underneath! But Thomas solved the problem, re-affixed our gutter and soffit, and even though the job took twice as long, he then secured all of our gutters, caulked our roof in a few spots, and gave an assessment on how much life our roof has left. I expected the price to be higher since the work took longer and was more difficult, but Thomas stuck by his initial quote. I highly recommend working with Thomas, and I will definitely think of him for any future jobs.
Awesome guys. They did great work replacing a rotted fascia board and repairing the gutter attached to it. They were careful to reuse the aluminum wrapping I had and even went so far as to put the new nails through the old holes to keep the from punching new holes that may seep water. What was also great was that he only charged me for the time worked. I had a max quote and if he finished earlier I didn't get charged. Good work at a reasonable and honest price.
I would highly recommend Caliber Roofing which is a small family run business. The owner Steve and his crew did an amazing job tearing off and replacing my horse barn roof (approximately 25 squares) and installing new synthetic fascia and 6 inch aluminum gutters, and also replacing damaged roofing boards/underlayment. He offers a competitive price, uses the best quality materials, and Steve works on the roof with his crew to ensure that the quality is to his standards. I was also impressed with the way they cleaned up the job, as it was critical there were no nails left around the barn for a horse to pick up. In summary, you cannot go wrong with having a roof or gutter replacement with Caliper Roofing.
Carlos and his team were really awesome for the four days they were working on my house. They replaced tile in our entryway and fireplace and replaced carpet with tile in another room. They also added a bathroom fan and replaced a light fixture and painted those ceilings and a few other touch ups. His tile guy especially was INCREDIBLE. We absolutely love our new tile (we bought it from Home Depot, they picked it up) and he did a killer job installing it. Every detail was perfect from the tile to grout to the quarter rounds. Exceptionally done. We did a lot of little things in those four days and the work took an extra day because they needed to do a little more demo and prep on the tile areas but Carlos and his team were at our house every day at 8am just as they said they would be. They did a great job painting every room they did work in and no paint got on any unwanted surfaces. They were extremely thorough covering all furniture and fixtures when they painted. There were some small communication issues because some of the workers didn't speak the best English. In that event we called Carlos and he promptly replied and gave instructions to his team and the issue was settled quickly and easily. We couldn't believe how reasonable the estimate was given how much stuff we asked him to do. I absolutely recommend getting a quote from Carlos and Apex for any interior general contracting work you're looking to get done. As long as you have clear communication and let him know exactly what you want him to do you'll have a great experience.
Initial estimate appointment arrived late. His estimate was thousands, YES thousands less than the five we received which was more inline with the amount of work needed. Replacing fascia board and two damaged internal boards along with the coping, seal and flashing. We had to reschedule onset of repair to our portico by two days for medical reasons, no one showed up at the new scheduled time. No call or response to texts, then showed up four hours late without announcing his arrival and went straight to work. Quoted the job using sheet metal but installed PVC boards, which works for us; just not what was finalized. Finished in the amount of time he promised and the job looks great. Offers a 5 year warranty on his work. Cleaned up after themselves and put my personal items back as they found them. We will be able to determine the quality of the work after the first rain storm.
Andre Cut holes in roof for roof jack vents, attached bathroom vents to roof jack vents, and installed soffit vents. Really great. Andrew scheduled me in last minute and completed the work quickly. He walked through his work with me when he was done.
Over the course of 2 days, Ted and one assistant helped us with lots of projects around our house, including re-attachment of a tile in our bathroom, installation of a new bathroom fan, re-caulking/grouting in our shower, re-attachment of a mantle to the wall, insertion of foam insulation/caulking to repair our chimney, re-attachment of tiles on our front walkway, dishwasher repair, and more. Ted was very punctual, professional, and easy to talk to and work with. He seems to be very knowledgeable about home repairs and it was really helpful to have him around right when we moved into our new home. We asked for a lot of help and Ted delivered - he got everything done (between him and one other person). Overall, we're glad we hired Ted and plan to use him again in the future!
Just thought I'd give credit where credit is due. I don't normally give reviews, but thought I should in this case, as the whole project went so smoothly. This has not always been the case for us when hiring contractors in the past. Shane is hard working and dependable. He has many years experience in a great number of construction / contracting fields. We recently had him do some work for us in a commercial recording studio, installing an antique door, (antique for aesthetics) and the end result was great The door and header above are level, look neat and tidy, and finish and trim are done to a high standard. Couldn't be happier. I might also add, that Shane's prices were fair and reasonable, and throughout the project he conducted himself in a professional manner. Shane also paid respect to his surroundings, in so far as nothing was damaged in the studio, and he took care in cleaning up after himself when the work was completed. He also kept the work area tidy while the work was in progress. We will be calling Shane in the future, as we have some outdoor trim, fascia, and soffit that are in need of repair. To cut to the chase... I highly recommend Shane if you are in need of any sort of renovations, or need help with any other construction related upgrades or repairs.
A Plus Roofing responded promptly to my request to find and repair a leak in my chimney flashing in spite of the fact they were swamped with calls due to damaging wind conditions. Mr. Kain quickly found the leak problem and also noted fixed a loose piece of j-block trim at a high soffit at no additional charge. Work well done at a reasonable price.
Steve came to install seamless gutters, a ridge vent, and Azek soffit on my garage. He also added 2x4 backers behind the fascia to help support the new gutters. He did this over two days. Went well ad it always does.
Polestar did our vinyl siding, soffits, aluminum wrap, and gutters. Nick and Chang were very responsive and personal, punctually met appointments and time commitments, and delivered what they said they would. The quality was very good and there is nothing I could say really needed improvement. I would definitely use them again.
Quick and excellent service. Great person to deal with. Explained everything and ensured that the work was done properly. Thanks so much and I'll be looking forward to do more business with you in the future. Luis E.
