Installed sump pump. Nick arrived 45mins after I described my problem to him on the phone. A very personable guy. Thanks Nick!
I was in need of a toilet installation before the weekend and Walter at Eagle Home Improvements (Hi Solutions) was able to schedule me for Friday morning with Christopher. Christopher was a total pro, performing the removal of the old toilet and installation of the new toilet without a hitch. He was engaging and provided advice about a few questions I had regarding the toilet components and future maintenance requirements. He caulked the bowl and cleaned up after completing the job. I would definitely recommend Eagle Home Improvements to anyone.
I hired Antonio (Tony) Sanchez from Renaissance Restoration to complete a kitchen renovation this past fall (sorry I did not get around to completing this review sooner!). I did all the demolition, but the job included lights and electrical, plumbing repair, cabinet and counter top install, appliance install, and painting. Tony gave a very reasonable estimate and personally worked on my project with his assistant from start to finish as opposed to having one of his employees complete the job. As he began the job, he soon realized that virtually nothing from the original construction was square (townhouse was built in 1987). However, that did not phase him as he had the skills to adjust making those imperfections unnoticeable in the end. In addition, Tony has skills in most of the trades which meant that he did not have to sub different parts of the job out; he did all the electrical, plumbing and carpentry himself. The best part of my experience working with Tony was that he discussed and explained different options or ways of completing a task to ensure there were no surprises, and I was impressed with his willingness to even teach me a little along the way. He was flexible in allowing me to have a friend install the tile floor and was understanding of my need to stick to a rather tight budget. There are only two comments I could make for overall improvement: cleanliness and timeliness. On a couple of occasions, I had to discard empty food containers and drinks that had been left behind. I attributed this to oversight and could be easily improved by making an effort to clean up the work site after each day of work. Considering it was not a space I was using though, it was not that big of a deal. As for timeliness, the project took longer than expected to complete. However, I know that my involvement did have some impact on the schedule and the fact he was doing the work himself while still managing other jobs is a factor. I would not hesitate to bring Tony in for another project in the future. I am completely satisfied with his work and would recommend him to anyone.
Matt pulled out the carpet in our basement and installed a wood grain tile. He did a great job with the installation and also communicating about the time frame for completing the job. He made see that the grout lines were as narrow as possible to achieve the full wood like unlike some contractors who take the lazy approach. We plan on hiring him again when we upgrade the tile in our bathroom.
They did a great job installing my gas line for an outdoor grill. I will definitely use them again
Dan's approach to a job is to complete it in the most economical way, while delivering a superior solution. He is masterful and meticulous at plumbing (water heater), electrical (exterior lights), installation (bathtub shower doors), etc. He works fast, efficient, and explains each step of his work plan. I highly recommend!
My basement flooded as a result of a broken sump pump during a torrential rain storm. Unlimited Resources responded in less than 2 hours of contacting them. Due to the flood I also had some electrical issues which needed attention quick. They provided staff with the appropriate certifications and credentials along with excellent professionalism and expertise. In the following days they made sure that my basement was dried out and did mold remediation. Grateful for having to deal with a good company under such distress.
Mike fixed a couple of exterior leaks in our sunroom for us. We were happy with his work so we asked him to install insulation in our attic. We are happy with that installation, too. Mike was responsive to e-mails and calls, arrived on time, and did a thorough job.
We were looking for new flooring to be installed in our entry and kitchen. Andre came out with an estimate and listened to our ideas about taking the kitchen reno just a little bit further. We wanted to get rid of the large Florescent light in the kitchen. Andre suggested he could install in-ceiling lights. We were on a tight schedule to get this done and Andre made sure he scheduled us for the week that we requested. He and his team did a great job getting our lights installed, our floors installed, and making sure that everything was back in place before they finished. Andre and Amilcarr are very personable and friendly, making sure we understood what they were doing on each step of the installation. They did a fabulous job and we're planning our next step in renovation to be suing Traylor Design & Construction as our go-to contractors.
I had Unique Homes (Simeon) complete 4 different projects for me, each progressively bigger. All of them were successful -- although not without little issues that came up now and then, but that were always taken care of. The prices were very good and the jobs were done well. Job #1 - I had a front porch that needed concrete work. This was a relatively small job, but it was done well. Job #2 - This was a remodel of small bathroom. Again, the job was done well and was a good price. And Simeon indulged us owners half-way through the project when we did not like something about the floor tiles we had chosen. Totally our issue, we did not really like how it looked when it started getting installed. But he undid some of his work and we were able to fix it. Job #3 - This was a full bathroom remodel, so a more significant job. Again, this project was done well, but the costs savings really started to come through on this project. We were very happy with the final look of the bathroom. Job #4 - This was by far the biggest job. It was a complete remodel of our master bathroom. I had received various quotes from other contractors in the $30-40K range for the project (including materials). Simeon's prices were less than a third of that, however that did not include any of the materials. In the end, I think the materials is the source of a lot of the savings since I think the others hide mark-ups (or store kick-backs) in the materials. For this project we went to some high end stores and looked at their display designs and chose/copied what we liked. We chosen something that was based on a white marble tile as a base ...and Lowes/HD carried it at a fraction of the cost of Tile City. I think we saved $5k on the marble along. We bought some of the more unique accent stuff in Tile City at full price, but for everything else we were able to replicate the Tile City look with HD or Lowe's materials of equal quality. We bought a high end shower panel, but bought it through Costco. The same fixture at a high-end bathroom store was thousands more than what we paid. At some higher end stores Simeon would give us the Unique Homes discount that he had negotiated. Some places (like the glass doors for the shower) were still expensive...but I ended up with the same bathroom that would have been $40k for about $20K. So yes, I recommend Unique Homes.
I was worried that perhaps I may have damaged a sump pump when trying to clean it, and I sent a request in through Thumbtack. I heard from Norlan a couple hours later, and as he was in the neighborhood, he stopped by for a quick look. He checked the sump pump and verified that there was no problem with it and that it did not require work. He did not charge me for this visit/appraisal. Norlan strikes me as a knowledgeable and honest person, I will certainly turn to him when I have a plumbing issue in the future.
Byron and his crew did a phenomenal job! They arrived on time and were extremely professional. All I wanted was a color change but they did wall, chair rail, and crown molding repair for no extra charge. I even bought the wrong color paint for the kitchen by accident and they graciously stayed longer to paint it the right color and put me at ease about inconcenviencing them. We were so pleased that we are planning to hire them for other jobs around the house now! Hire them, you won't regret it.
Tom is the best! I would highly recommend for jobs both big and small. He was very professional, on time and the install was completed quickly. Will definitely be calling on Barcroft Builders again!
J&J removed a NASTY old doubled carpet and padding from my upstairs family room. The job was done well and in a timely fashion. I wish the installer had cleaned up a little bit better and we did have a little language difficulty, but he did the job exactly how I wanted it done - and I am very particular. The installer also went out of his way to help me to fix another carpet on the stairs, and he moved some heavy items for me and carried them to the basement. That was not in the contract. I had specifically said that I would take care of the items and I had not. He did it gratis and that was much appreciated. This is a company that clearly takes pride in their work. I am very pleased.
Rolando installed new tile, fixtures and shower doors in our master bath 2 years ago. He was very professional and reliable to work with. He and his workers showed up on time every day until the job was complete. He got the job done quickly and our bathroom looks great! His prices were very competitive and I highly recommend him. Excellent quality of work.
Without exception, Perry and Park are the finest plumbing team I've worked with to date. After initially contacting Mr. Park about our needs for a home we were to purchase, we coordinated the installation of a water heater and utility sink. The job expanded further to include several shut-off valves and hose bibs. Martin Perry did an outstanding job with the work, negotiating several tight spaces and odd plumbing configurations to complete the job. He and Hoon Park stayed the majority of the day to ensure the work was done well and were extremely communicative and flexible. I feel lucky to have discovered this company. They are relatively unknown now, but that will certainly change quickly with their quality, excellent communication, and reasonably-priced work.
I'm very happy to recommend Otech for the plumbing and installation service. He gave me a fair price, fixed everything and remodeled the bathrooms, including new fixtures in my full baths and installing a faucet in the sink that I had already purchased. He was polite, clean and honest. I could not have asked for more. I would call this company again if I need any services.
I became familiar with Hawthorne's Plumbing when I was the office manager of a kitchen design company. The company produced very high end kitchens and we used Hawthorne's to do much of the plumbing work. I found them easy to work with and decided to use them when I had plumbing problems in my home. They are absolutely great! Prompt and courteous, they fix the problem the first time and they clean up after themselves. I recommend Hawthorne's whenever someone asks me if I know a good plumber.
Overall my experience with Mr Mcgrath was fantastic! My husband and I received high quality of work in a very realistic time period. Mr Mcgrath was doing work for our home: painting, wall repair, deck repair, as well as door/window repair etc. Mr, Mcgrath was easily accessible and was prompt and professional. Would highly recommend his services.
Paulo did a great job . He came on time and did a great job installing my water heater for a very fair price very professional i will recommend him and definitely used again for all my plumbing jobs
