Introduction: Most private music teachers have little to no musical training and believe that showing someone how to play a song is sufficient for your hard earned dollars. They simple have no concept of how to teach! On the other hand, most teachers at music stores have some musical training, but due to store policies, lessons are run more like a factory assembly line, cycling students in and out the door while maintaining profit, leaving instructors with no incentive to actually teach in a manner conducive to keeping student interest peaked. As the owner of Glen Allen Music Instruction, I am constantly working at finding ways to better the learning experience for the student. Foremost, I am one of the only instructors around with years of collegiate training in music and teaching (3.8 final G.P.A. in Music). My lessons are comprehensive, interesting, and exciting. Students are taught in a manner where they can actually apply music theory and other information on their own outside of lessons. My studio is the most spacious and comfortable around and is very conducive to learning. My musical intellect dwarfs the competition, and thus have been able to corner the lesson market in the Tri-City area. The relationship and repoire with my students is my greatest joy. Watching their reaction as they progress further into to realizing their musical goals is an unparalleled feeling which drives me and keeps me at my best! A majority of my new clients are due to referrals which is a testament to my abilities as a gifted teacher.
