FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We always begin with a free consultation. This provides an opportunity for me to hear about the prospective client's goals, history with exercise, and what has led them to seek out a personal trainer. It also gives the prospective client an opportunity to get to know me and hear a little about the program I'd create for them. After the consultation we schedule our first session, I create an fitness program based on the client's needs and goals, and we get to work!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am certified as a personal trainer through the American Council on Exercise (ACE), and I have a BA in psychology from James Madison University.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Throughout my life I've been involved in various forms of physical activity--swim team as a child, track and cross country in high school, and recreational running as an adult--and I've witnessed how physical fitness allows people to enjoy life more fully. Whether it's having the energy to play outside with your kids, or walking and stretching to reduce chronic pain, I believe in the power of exercise, and I am passionate about helping people see the benefits in their own lives. I love working one-on-one with people, so personal training seemed like a dream job to me (and it is!)
