Mr. Mailey's Math Tutoring

Introduction: I am a high school teacher with six years of experience teaching upper level math and physics. I also have 15 years of experience tutoring students. I've tutored my peers and others since I was in high school. I graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a BS in Psychology and a focus in engineering. In college, I realized my passion was sharing the beauty of math and science with others, so upon graduating I began my teaching career. For the past six years, my background in engineering has allowed me to teach not only the basic skills of mathematics, but also its purpose and application to all of my students. In addition to teaching in the classroom, I am now offering one-on-one tutoring services to any middle or high school math or physics/chemistry student. I am able to tutor students in any math discipline and also specialize in physics and chemistry tutoring. I offer one-hour sessions as many times a week or month as is requested. I individualize my sessions to the needs of each particular student. I pride myself on creating applicable lessons that truly engage each of my students. Ultimately, I will help to instill a passion for math or science in you or your student, creating life-long learners in the discipline.
