Introduction: A lot of photographers 'batch' edit their images meaning they run a script that adjusts each image exactly the same, resulting in uniformity but lacking in individuality! I look at editing as 'how can I make this image better?' Some set out to provide their customers with just technically sound photographs, I set out to provide customers with AMAZING photographs. In just about every wedding I work, at some point in the night, while everyone is celebrating and creating memories that will last a lifetime, I think "Wow, this is my job. How lucky am I?" Not only do I get to be part of that day, I get to provide them with a visual narrative that will help them to tell the story of their big day for the rest of their lives. It's a big responsibility and an even greater honor.

FAQs

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am constantly searching the web looking for new editing, lighting, and composition tips. My goal is to become a better photographer with each photograph I take.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started off doing portraits and taking photos of musicians during live concerts. I had a friend of a friend who needed a wedding photographer and loved my work so they asked if I would do it. I never set out to be a wedding photographer but one wedding led to another and before you knew it I was shooting weddings more than portraits. I think it was fate. :)
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Price is always a consideration but don't settle for the cheapest photographer you can find unless you are really confident in their work. Your wedding is a once in a lifetime day, you cannot re-do it. Remember you'll be looking at these photos for the rest of your life! On the other hand, don't assume that the most expensive photographers will automatically provide you with the photos you're going to like the most. Go with the photographer that best fits your personal style.
