About this pro

How does your service stand out?

We prepare our food from scratch, not using frozen or pre-made products as many other caterers do. We also source many of our products from local farms and producers. We can offer you personal chef services for one person or more up to groups of 125 people. We focus on smaller groups as our cuisine is prepared just prior to serving, bringing you and your guests the freshest possible product. We offer full-service catering and serve all of our cuisine in high-quality serving dishes such as chaffers, glass and china platters, wood blocks, and individual steel bowls etc. We do not do disposables for your event unless you request drop-off. We also offer Reidel glassware, contemporary white china, stainless steel flatware, and linens upon request for groups of 24 or less. For larger groups, we handle rental of your equipment. We also offer full-bar catering services, one of few caterers that do. From full-service bars to just providing a bartender, just let us know how we can assist.

I can't say enough good things about Kimberley Ashlee Catering. They came into our home and worked quietly to create a delicious wedding luncheon. They then cleaned up everything and put leftovers away leaving me to enjoy the special day with my family. I will hire them again!!!!

    Best Caterer Ever!
Everything was perfect, beginning to end. She was very accommodating in planning menu, when they arrived told us just to sit and relax and they would do everything to set up and of course prepare food. The food was outstanding😋!! Very upscale in content and presentation. Service also superior. Happy guests! Ashley, Josh, Nicky and Sarah not only cleaned everything up at the end but since we had 40 people and had rearranged dining chairs into different rooms prior to caterer arrival, they even put all of those back. I have no recommendations for improvement, and I've used several caterers over the years. Great evening!

Huge taste, fresh value for the money!!
Kimberley Ashlee catered our corporate lunch n learn with boxed lunches that were absolutely fresh and delicious. Real chicken and turkey, not processed lunch meats! Additionally we had marinated tofu in the veggie options which is a huge bonus! My vegetarians are so tired of mushrooms or caprese sandwiches! Fantastic value for terrificky delicious food. I will definitely use them again!

    Very Friendly and Prompt Service
Kimberley and Josh were prompt and pleasant to work with. Unfortunately, there was a family incident that caused a cancellation of our party so we couldn't taste what I'm sure is wonderful food. I'm looking forward to trying Kimberley Ashlee catering in the future.

    Flawless Entertaining
We hired Kimberley Ashlee to cater our 15th wedding anniversary party (with over 50 guests), and it was a resounding success. The staff was punctual, polite and largely invisible. The level of professionalism exhibited well exceeded our expectations and the food itself was nothing short of excellent. Kimberley Ashlee delivered a truly wonderful experience to us and all our guests and we will definitely bring them back for future events.

Used Kimberly Ashlee for the rehearsal dinner for our son's wedding. They visited the site ahead of time to insure everything would go smoothly, were willing to work around our price point and presented an eye appealing dinner. However the "deliciousness" of the food and the professionalism of the staff was the real height of the evening. We would recommend them 100%.

Kimberley Ashlee Catering provided a fabulous dinner for my husbands 50th birthday! We had a three course meal for 14 people and they were able to meet all my needs in a very short time span. Loved everything they made and Josh paired wines with each course, which were fantastic! We are huge red wine lovers, so when we had a Viognier with the salad course we were all a little nervous- no need, we all loved the wine, it was perfect for the warm evening and salad! They are a farm to table caterer and the beef course was so tender and delicious, everyone is still raving about it. Josh and Kimberley introduced the courses and the wines and were so gracious and kind, I felt very comfortable with them immediately. They left my kitchen cleaner then when they got there! I cannot say anything negative about this caterer. In fact I am trying to plan another event so that we can have them back! I highly recommend Kimberley Ashlee Catering!

We had a casual party for a small group. I appreciated the flexibility with custumizing the menu to meet our needs. The food was tasty with quality ingredients. I spent more than I wanted to but overall it was a good experience.

I wanted to provide a special dinner for my mother's 89th birthday, for just she and a friend, in her assisted living apartment. I found six personal chefs on-line in Pittsburgh who sounded appropriate. Kimberley followed up from inquiry quickly, understood my idea, and sent me a detailed menu. We made some modifications and I felt confident moving forward. The cost was lower than some other personal chefs, and I felt it was reasonable. My mother reported that the dinner was presented with a flair, the service was wonderful and the food was delicious. She felt pampered and celebrated, which was my goal.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Depends on your menu selections. We base all of our pricing off of current cost of food products/ingredients only. You will pay a decent and reasonable price based off of market pricing for food ingredients.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
1. What are their needs. 2. Budget 3. Provide a sample menu 4. Feedback and finalization of menu 5. Provide contract 6. Sign Contract 7. Make your event a complete success!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Bachelors degree, 25 years of experience, culinary associations and certification from the court of master sommeliers.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
Started in restaurants when I was 15 years old. I have been in the industry for 27 years now.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Private Homes focusing on parties from 40-80 people. Corporate lunches and receptions. Family dinners for 2-24 people. Charity events up to 120 people. Plated dinners of around 50-70 people. Private lessons for 1-6 people. Class instruction for 20-40 people
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Tell us what you like and do not like in terms of cuisine (i.e. American, Italian, Asian, Southern, etc.). This helps us to better put together a menu for your event. Also, be honest about your budget expectations. Expect to pay about what you would going out to a restaurant for the type of food you are seeking. Example: Do not expect to get a dinner for $10 unless you are used to eating at a fast-food style venue. Also, be aware of those offering 'Catering' as the term is now being mis-used such as in the event of Subway or Kentucky Fried Chicken. They say 'Catering' but really you are getting delivery. Catering is customized menus to your satisfaction, finishing the food on-site, and maintaining the food if it's not just a 'drop-ff' which many of us can also handle but it requires more than dropping the food at your door step.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
How Much am I willing to spend? What is important to me? What do I want to see on the menu?
