Ive been taking guitar lessons from Gregg every other week for the last 6 months. The main reason I decided to seek out private guitar lessons from an instructor, was because I couldnt get into online or DVD guitar lessons which I attempted for several months. Moreover, Im old school when it comes down to music lessons, due to learning the cello through classroom instructor- based lessons from elementary to High School, along with private lessons thereafter. With that being said I can say Ive made one of the best decisions towards enhancing my playing on the guitar by taking lessons with Gregg. When I first started taking lessons from Gregg, he provided an individual plan for me to help with learning scales, technique exercises, licks, and improvisation. He showed me how to make my own melodies on the guitar by using scale/chord relations. He provided the theory behind using various chords with scales which I did not gain from DVD or online guitar learning. He also broke down how much time I should spend on practicing the guitar to get where I want to be. He is very encouraging and will provide feedback to you which will enable you to improve in certain areas. I would like to recommend Gregg for beginner to intermediate players, as well as advanced players who are preparing for gigs. In addition, Gregg cannot practice for you, he can only provide lessons. I try to practice from 30 minutes to 2 hours a day depending on my daily schedule. Gregg is a great teacher, I am already playing with others (bassist and drummer) and using the skills he taught me to improvise my playing.
Guitar lesson for me and drum lesson for my daughter. Don was well versed, switched teaching styles and instruments quickly and i found his rates reasonable.
Very professional, Andrew Pendergast is awesome. My daughter has had 3 voice lessons and now we are incorporating guitar with the lesson. I highly recommend Lessons In Your Home.
Finding a good guitar and bass tutor can be pretty fraught. Anyone who knows a few scales can potentially set up shop. I had the misfortune of visiting several such "instructors." Unlike most of the folks on craigslist, Morgan is a true teacher. He has deep musical knowledge that spans genres and play styles, and will adapt his lessons to the interests of the student. But more importantly, he's just a great person - kind, patient, and passionate about music. Over 2 years of lessons, Morgan helped me progress from simple pop songs to Jazz comps, and even indulged my interest in kooky prog metal rhythms. The lessons were fun, spontaneous, and challenging. Bonus: Morgan is an experienced guitar tech with a fully outfitted shop in his house. I cannot overstate how convenient it is to be able to get your instrument fixed in the same location where you take your lessons. Virtually no one else in the area can provide this dual service. In summary: I wouldn't write such a long review if he wasn't the real deal. I left each lesson with a smile on my face and I saw the same in every other student that walked out the door before my timeslot. If you want to learn and actually have fun doing it, give this guy a call.
Carey is a master guitar player and a master music and guitar teacher. Not all guitar players have mastered the guitar and not all guitar players can teach. Carey can do both. He his fluent in the language of music theory and guitar playing technique, and effortlessly and enthusiastically articulates both to his students.
Diego is a natural teacher with a God-given talent. My daughter has only been taking guitar lessons for 4 1/2 months, but I am amazed by her progress and accomplishments. She learns something new each week and walks out of each lesson with a big smile on her face. He is very kind, encouraging and knowledgeable with a fun and diverse repertoire. I highly recommend Diego.
I found Victor here on this website for a guitar teacher for my son and when it came down to needing to hire a teacher Victor had followed up with me. So I took advantage of the first free lesson and he's been my sons guitar teacher ever since. Victor is very patient and knowledgeable, the personal attention and care he gives to each individual child is wonderful. You can tell that he has a love for music and this is his passion. I've spoken to other families that he teaches(some for several years) and they all agree. He works well with my son on incorporating styles and songs he is interested in as well as teaching music theory and basics. My son was a beginner 6 months ago and now he is playing full songs confidently. He loves coming to guitar class and learning new techniques, and songs. I plan on continuing until my son can pay for lessons himself. I highly recommend Victor Crisen.
It has been a joy working with Brandon! He is always on time and challenges my son, appropriately, with his guitar progress. Brandon is very warm and engaging, always keeping us parents update on how the sessions are going. We recommend Brandon!
I am a university-trained guitarist specializing in classical and acoustic guitar for beginners to advanced players, including audition preparation for conservatories, colleges and schools of music
As a beginner, I was in search for a patient and dependable guitar instructor. Bernardo went above and beyond to ensure my learning experience was fun and productive. He did not bog me down with technicalities alone but rather instilled a sense of listening needed for aspiring musicians to succeed. Most importantly, he taught me the value of being responsible for my own learning experience, I took his advice seriously and excelled. Thank you Bernardo!
Joey is an amazing guitar instructor, and my son always looks forward to their lessons! My 16 year old son started playing guitar about a year ago, and can play any music given to him now. If he has a new song he wants to learn, Joey will have him playing it by the end of the lesson! Joey shares his love of music with his students, and allows his students to explore the music they want to focus on. He also encourages his students to get creative and write their own songs, or just jam out and enjoy the music. Joey is not only an amazing instructor, he is also a great role model for my son. We are extremely happy with his instruction and highly recommend him.
Frankey has been the drummer for our church over the last seven years. He has matured into a very gifted drummer. He is reliable, conscientious, professional, and a great musician.
Josh is awesome! I learned how to play ode to joy my first lesson with him. He's fun and can teach you awesome penatonic scales. He makes playing guitar worth the calluses.

I have turned lessons with some kids into 6-8 year long mentoring relationships. Some have moved onto musics schools and Universities. I work with people from ages 7-61 currently. I have a 100% success rate with my students, but only when time and practice is regimented by the student . Studying and playing music for 30 years has taught me a lot. I base my lesson plans entirely ontbe individual I am working with . No 2 students of mine ever share the same lesson plan , unless requested by those individuals. Most of what I teach I learned by what “not to do” I have found that learning from past mistakes, in all fields of music, had made me very aware of what people should not do as well as areas of focus and strength.
