Dan's a fantastic teacher because he makes you want to be a better musician. He uses different ways of instructing that specifically cater to your tastes and interests. He's familiar with a wide range of music, genres, and instruments. I came to Dan for beginner guitar lessons, but ended up gaining much more musical knowledge than I could have ever imagined. Dan helped me with the technicalities of the guitar, and helped me refine and add to my skill as a drummer of 11 years. In Jam Class, we played everything from James Brown to Nirvana. Dan is able to foster a great community of musicians within Jam Class, and will not only teach you to play, but to perform and work with other musicians.

Mr. Walls is an enthusiastic and patient teacher. As a choir member at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton for the past fifteen years, I have been able to sing liturgical music, and participate with other choirs in singing more complex pieces of music, such as requiems and compositions for rites of the church and special occasions. Our choir has sung in various languages, and joined other choirs in ecumenical choir fests. Mr. Walls has studied music composition, conducting, and history, and is an accomplished musician on several instruments, including the piano, organ, and guitar. He has several years teaching experience in the U.S. and abroad. I would say Mr. Walls' expertise and talent are second to none.

My 16 year old son has been taking guitar lessons from Tom for so many years I can't remember exactly how many it's been. Maybe five. Tom was born to teach (oh yes- and also be a musician!) He is kind and patient and really cares about his students as people, not just as musicians. In our heavily scheduled life, Tom never watches the clock. The lesson is over when it is complete, not when the timer beeps that 30 minutes is up. My husband and I would highly recommend Tom to anyone wanting to learn guitar - from beginner to expert, young to old. He's the best.

Eugene’s Music Studio is one of the most professional & kind music studios we had the honor to work with. My son is so excited and cannot wait for his piano lessons. The teacher was able to keep him busy and involved throughout the entire session (not an easy task) and she always comes up with new ways for him to stay involved. We are very happy that we found Eugene's Music Studio. Eugene was very attuned and helped us find the best fit for our child and we look forward to seeing the progress he will make with time.

Diego is a natural teacher with a God-given talent. My daughter has only been taking guitar lessons for 4 1/2 months, but I am amazed by her progress and accomplishments. She learns something new each week and walks out of each lesson with a big smile on her face. He is very kind, encouraging and knowledgeable with a fun and diverse repertoire. I highly recommend Diego.

I've been working with Maurice for just a couple months now. He has taught me more guitar in less than 3 months than I've picked up in over 30 years of trying to pick it up by myself. He is not only a great guitarist, he is also a great teacher.

Andrew is an excellent guitar and music theory teacher. He knows how to explain theory in a way which is thorough, but also understandable and fun. He is always very punctual, friendly, patient, and accommodating. I cannot recommend highly enough.

I was already an intermediate guitarist when I began lessons with Marcus Truelove. He has a reputation among area guitarists as professional and very knowledgeable. He exceeded my expectations in every way. I was at a learning plateau and quite frankly, all over the place on the fretboard when I began lessons. Over the course of two years, he was able to smooth out my technique and improved my timing immensely. I especially like that he was able to teach to any level of ability and covered a lot of material in every lesson. His level of understanding made playing a lot easier for me and the results were almost immediate. He uses an easy to understand building block approach to teaching. He will give you honest feedback on your progress/ability and set reasonable expectations for your next lesson. His lessons are an excellent value and I reserve for him my highest recommendation.

I set-up one appointment w/ Oscar to see if it was possible to learn guitar: I find manipulating my hand and fingers awkward. He promptly assisted me w/ finding a proper sitting position, guitar holding technique and where to place my fingers. His demeanor is that of calm patience. I signed-up for four more lessons!

Joey is an amazing guitar instructor, and my son always looks forward to their lessons! My 16 year old son started playing guitar about a year ago, and can play any music given to him now. If he has a new song he wants to learn, Joey will have him playing it by the end of the lesson! Joey shares his love of music with his students, and allows his students to explore the music they want to focus on. He also encourages his students to get creative and write their own songs, or just jam out and enjoy the music. Joey is not only an amazing instructor, he is also a great role model for my son. We are extremely happy with his instruction and highly recommend him.

About

If you’re already good, but want to go to the next level, or if you’re just starting out and want to get the basics under your fingers, get guitar lessons with a Berklee graduate. Credentials: - 26 years of playing and teaching experience - Bachelor of Music, Berklee College of Music I teach all styles, ages and skill levels. Expand your musical vocabulary, theory, and ear training, and learn songs.

About

I have turned lessons with some kids into 6-8 year long mentoring relationships. Some have moved onto musics schools and Universities. I work with people from ages 7-61 currently. I have a 100% success rate with my students, but only when time and practice is regimented by the student . Studying and playing music for 30 years has taught me a lot. I base my lesson plans entirely ontbe individual I am working with . No 2 students of mine ever share the same lesson plan , unless requested by those individuals. Most of what I teach I learned by what “not to do” I have found that learning from past mistakes, in all fields of music, had made me very aware of what people should not do as well as areas of focus and strength.

About

Whatever your musical goal may be, I have the educational background and teaching experience to take you there. I have years of flamenco, classical and jazz studies at the university level and with some of the areas' most-renowned instructors who have left me uniquely qualified as a guitarist. Over a decade of imparting knowledge in a fun and relaxing way has given me the experience to become a patient teacher who gets great results. Several of my students have gone on to prestigious conservatories, started successful bands and have students of their own. Group beginner lessons in the Silver Spring area are forming now, and I'm also taking private students, your place or mine or via Skype.

About

I am self taught so I'll teach you what you need to progress from chords to arpeggios to modes. Ear training and improv will also be provided.
