I have been a certified and professional artist and designer for over 20 years. I have clients from all over the world. Come to my studio and enjoy the sounds of jazz and learning how to crochet, paper mosaic, draw, paint or create a stained glass masterpiece!
I have always liked the idea of painting but often I get discouraged because it does not come natural to me. However, after taking Michelle's art class, I found myself signing up for more classes. She has a professional but carefree teaching approach that allowed me to take the pressure off. I enjoyed learning different techniques and learning how to add my personality to my artwork. It is a wonderful way to disengage from the hustle of the work week.
We offer visual art classes for children ages 18 months to adults (18 years and older). Our classes offer age-appropriate fundamental art instruction that includes art appreciation for older children. We give basic instruction on drawing, painting and sculpture, just to name a few. Please call and schedule for a free-trial class. Our studio is also open for play dates. We also offer open studio hours for those who would like to do some painting on their own for a 3-hour stretch. Let's not forget that we do birthday parties!
Nina taught a number of drawing, painting, and sculpture classes for my homeschooling group. Since our children were different ages, she planned a lesson for the older or more capable students as well as one for the younger students, and in that way she was able to accommodate several different age groups with the help of a supervising parent. Nina's thoughtful suggestions to each student brought out individual abilities, besides the basic skills that she addressed. She was particularly adept at bringing self-conscious and reluctant students into the art arena.
I creat digital,3d representations of various things that are then used for 3d printing, indie video games and product prototyping. I have also been playing guitar since I was fifteen, participate in various music projects and would like to share my talents with others.
I am an award winning artist who has been reviewed and revered by the public. I am a total professional and back my work up with my personal guarantee. Beyond that I have and promote a positive learning atmosphere. After over 30 year of education experience I have had great successes with my students using this philosophy.
My children attended an art camp under Leslie's instruction. Both went in a bit cautious as artists but eager to learn. We were amazed by the progress they made artistically in one short week - and by the confidence they each gained in their abilities and ideas. They each have a framed canvas hanging at home - my daughter has 2! - and they were nearly as excited at learning framing techniques as they were with producing the art. For what my children brought home in materials and finished art work, the class was very reasonably priced. I HIGHLY recommend Leslie's art classes and would happily enroll my children again.

Michael has just completed his first book of his paintings about jazz and food entitled, "My Favorite Things". The quotes are a sensitive integration of words interspersed over his paintings, making for a perfect match of harmony of quotes and the power and magic of art. His most current series is entitled, "The Chocolate Hip Hop". It is this artist's journey into the generational world of hip hop using the wonders and sensational mood altering and mysteries and power of chocolate as a visual metaphor in design and visual consciousness.
My teaching is Art and way beyond Art. The learning environment is a special place where all factors benefit the student. Teacher has a unique teaching style that never assumes what the student already does or doesn't know or which part of what they learn will most benefit them.

Tanya Richey is an internationally known artist living locally. Her paintings hang in both private and public collections, including Fauquier Hospital and The Ford Motor Company. Our goal is to bring your event to life! The best thing about us is that children get to participate in art activities that are unique, and they get to take home at the end of the event. We want the kids to participate! We aren't here to make art for them, but to get them involved in their own art process! Want participants to do some canvas painting? We'll give them paintbrushes and paint, but we won't stop there! We'll bring a large variety of unique ways to paint that are all about having fun and not worrying about the final product!
