- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For weddings, I do offer day-of coordination services at a discounted rate of $25/hr with any booked DJ package. Dance lighting is included in all wedding and corporate event packages. Additional services (projector & screen, additional dance or up lighting, fog, etc.) are also available upon request. Pricing: Projector and Screen: $150 per set Fog Machine: $20 each Up-Lighting: $25 each Custom Monogram Spotlight: $50 each Other Items By Request
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Initially, I like to have a conversation (phone, email or in person) with my clients as an "introductory" meeting. This gives us a chance to get to know one another. We'll discuss the simple things like music genres, likes and dislikes, etc. I also provide my clients with some forms that allow them to provide me with specific information about their event. I try to do this as early in the process as possible - many times there are things on the form that clients have forgotten or not thought about. It also gives them an opportunity to work through things like song selections, sequence of events, etc. More discussions may be held between the date of hire and the actual event day, but I do prefer to have one final planning meeting approximately 1 week prior to the event. This meeting allows us to finalize the plans for the event. We'll talk through and document all of the details of the event - that way we're all on the same page.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
If you count experience as education, I have quite a bit. I've been a mobile DJ since 1992. I have been the "house DJ" for several night clubs, provide entertainment for annual charity events such as car shows and other fundraisers and typically perform in anywhere from 20-35 weddings each year. I also have 10+ years of experience as an on-air personality at several major-market radio stations.
