Mr. Taylor agreed to come to our house at our convenience and arrived on time. He was very professional and diagnosed the problem with our Washing Machine within a few minutes of his observations. He promptly fixed the problem and explained very clearly what the problem was and the process he went through to fix the problem. It all took about 30 minutes. Excellent service and I would not hesitate to request Mr. Taylor's services again. Phil Pieraldi

I need to have my washing machine services. It was not draining and was stopping before the cycle was complete. I contacted Sonic Appliance and I was serviced the same day. They also contacted me after the service to ensure my washing machine was performing correctly. They seemed more concern with my being satisfied then getting paid. I would definitely use them again in the future.

It was my first time using their cleaning services so I was quite nervous and didn't know what to expect. I was so happy with the results-- everything was spotless. The service was excellent! Eric called to let me know they were on the way and they got at my home on time. They cleaned everything including the blinds and made sure that everything was spotless before they left. Items were organized and set back in the right place after they were dusted. They moved things to make sure to not just clean around them. I would definitely use them again and make them my to go people. I highly recommend them.

We chose to work with Vojo to because he didn’t charge exorbitantly just to visit like some other companies. Vojo did a thorough job evaluating our washing machine to determine the problem. He displayed an extensive knowledge of machinery. He determined the most likely cause of the problem. We ordered the part needed and he came a second time to install the part and followed up to see if our washing machine was working well. We are very pleased to now have a working washing machine!

My basement got flooded after a rain storm in September of 2014. A phone call was made to Triangle Legacy; Andrew Ross, the company owner returned my call and showed up a couple of hrs later. An assessment of removing the left over water and repairs were made during his visit. The next day, Andrew and his crew helped with the water mitigation, and repair of the damaged basement began. His crew was professional and courteous. My basement was repaired and restrored .Quite satisfied with their work.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does refrigerator repair cost?

Refrigerator repair generally costs a fraction of the price of a new fridge and shouldhave your appliance up and running again in no time. The problems your refrigerator is experiencing and the parts required to fix it will affect your repair costs. Where you live can affect labor rates, which will raise or lower your costs. Here are some examples of average costs:

    • Diagnostic fees: $50-$100. Repair pros often have a service call fee or diagnostic fee to account for their time traveling to your location with all their tools to assess the problem. If you choose to have them repair the fridge, most pros then credit this fee toward your repair cost.
    • Parts: $20-$500. A new compressor averages $200, an icemaker $300, and computerized components such as touch screens and control boards average $300 or more.
    • Basic repairs: $180-$400, including parts. This price range can include repairing the evaporator or fan motor.

    How long do fridges last?

Refrigerators can last 10 to 20 years, although the most common lifespan is about 13 years. If your fridge is acting up, consider its current age when deciding whether to invest in repairs or buy a new one. Common easy fixes include faulty thermostats, dirty coils and clogged drain lines. Thermostats and dirty coils can be generally be fixed for an average cost of $80-$100. Clogged drain lines, which usually cause leaks, can often be fixed for under $200.

More complex refrigeration repairs such as replacing a bad compressor or replenishing low refrigerant can cost more because of expensive parts and higher labor. A new compressor costs an average of $200, not including labor. If labor is an average of $75-$100 per hour, and the repair takes 3 hours, you’re looking at roughly $500. Consider the age and purchase cost of your fridge; investing $350 in a $600 fridge that is 8 years old may not be cost-effective.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
