Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I am a fashion design graduate and have been designing and styling for the last 20 years. I focus on professional jewelry design and on styling clients by providing customized attention to their wardrobe needs and the desired image they seek to project. I strive to maximize my client's budget and preserve the items that still work for them by performing alterations. For the last 20 years, I have also gained a great deal of experience in the kitchen due to my mother being a chef and am very passionate about cooking. I also, most recently, worked for 4 years as a personal assistant and personal chef and have gained a consistent knowledge of working with dietary restrictions and specific pallets. I truly enjoy providing quality, creative meals that are healthy and also tasty. I truly enjoy helping others to project the image they desire by tailoring to their fashion needs. I think that looking good is a key component to feeling good and that it also reflects the way others react to you. I have done complete wardrobe transformations (personal shopping) and also smaller projects that required styling using the clients own clothing and doing small alterations. I enjoy providing my client with both options.

Liz is my fashion advisor. Everytime I wear what she had picked for me I receive compliments. I can say the same about the jewelry I have bought from her. Her strenght is the color combination and quality of the pieces she makes. The food she had cook for me is always delicious and innovative. Besides she takes special care on making a light version of my favorite dishes.

FAQs

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I like to have a pre consultation by phone or email in order to gauge the scope of work for the project and to know more about my client in order to tailor to their needs. I like to get as much information before I begin in order to maximize our face to face time. Unless it is a shopping outing for a specific event, I would meet the client at their location and do a quick analysis of their wardrobe before beginning the styling process.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a B.A. in Fashion Design from Marymount University in Arlington, Va.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I have always been in this line of work, but I really started styling when my mother landed a job position where she was photographed often and needed to upgrade her wardrobe. I basically assessed her needs, considered her body type and the silhouettes and colors that flattered her. I then received a budget, and went shopping on my time. Later she tried everything on and I returned what did not work. I was able to save her time and give her a sophisticated but fun and colorful style and she's never felt better after receiving compliment after compliment. What she once did not pay much importance to, was what ended up giving her more confidence and joy than she imagined. When you look good, you feel good, and others notice.
