What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Minimum fee is $200, that covers the initial project setup and 4-8 hours. Most small residential projects can be completed in this time frame. Larger project pricing varies depending on the level of detail needed, and complexity. My price is always negotiable once I see what I am dealing with. Larger and more complex BIM projects I can negotiate either a hourly rate or give a "Not To Exceed" based quote if given enough information.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a AutoDesk Beta tester and I am always staying up to date on the latest software and changes in the field.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I provide whatever a client needs. If you can sketch it I can draft it. Residential floor plans off of pictures and rough dimensions, to full 3D BIM models in Revit based off engineered plans, and everything in between.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Look for someone that not only has the experience, but also cares about what the customer is looking for.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Although I have a lot of experience with large projects, I have as much experience with small ones. It doesn't matter if my client is a homeowner looking for a set of plans to build a patio, or remodel their kitchen, an inventor with an idea that he needs to modeled, or a mechanical subcontractor looking for someone to model the plumbing or HVAC of a multi-Million dollar facility. I treat everyone as I would want to be treated, and provide only the best and most comprehensive services to all my clients, in the most timely and cost effective manner.
