I hired Slava to paint my large 3-bedroom condo and I could not be happier with the experience! Slava is both very skilled and very dedicated to provide high quality work. I was impressed by his attention to detail and his care in maintaining my place clean and stain free. He has brought his own painting equipment and fabric to cover the floors and has worked very hard to finish painting before my movers were scheduled. He was also kind enough to remove for me and put back two ceiling fixtures that needed cleaning. Also, I changed the color of one room from darker to lighter and multiple coats of paint were needed. Slava has come in two consecutive days to add another layer of paint and has not charged me extra. I fully recommend Slava and will not hesitate to hire him again if I need other work done in my apartment.

Sean deconstructed our fireplace surround, removed a soffit, and scraped or ceiling. Job included mudding, skim coating, painting, installing large pendants, and completing the wiring. Everything looks beautiful. Thank you for a job well done!

I submitted a job request via Thumbtack and Antonio was very quick to respond. I needed 4 rooms painted and it had to be done on a specific day; we were moving into a new house and wanted it done before our stuff arrived. Antonio was very professional: he met us at the house the day prior to formally assess the job, he saved us money on paint, and he and his crew stayed until the job was completed. The work was excellent and the clean-up was spot on. We will definitely hire him again and have already recommended him to friends.

Excellent response time, a thorough explanation and full disclosure for a complex business scenario. All instruction was followed to the tee and I believe I have received the best value for the jobs tasked. The company works quickly if you have a tight schedule tunaround without compromising quality. Provided before and after photos as per my request for verification purposes when remote. Looking forward to seeing actual results when paint is dry!

In preparing our home for sale, I contracted them to paint several areas that showed some wear and tear. Not only did they repair all wall surfaces, they repainted many areas that I had not even noticed. They were always prompt, courteous, and extremely conscientious about their work.

These guys are legit! I’m very grateful I found a dependable handyman service! I contracted these guys to do a few jobs for a house I was fixing to sell and had a very tight timeline. After seeing the quality of their work, I decided to give them the entire project. They tackle small jobs with the same eagerness as large ones. Not only they had the best prices but they were honest and worked their butts off. They were very professional, always available and on time. These guys are not your average contractors that want to make a quick buck! They are quality first, good value and honest. I will give them all my work from now on! Work completed: - Landscaping - Interior/ exterior painting - electrical - heating and air - drywall repair - carpentry - plumbing - window repair/replacement - vinyl siding replacement - roofing - replaced rotten porch posts - aluminum trim work - bulk trash removal - lock smith - carpet work - insulation I will upload more pics soon.

We had a roof leak and needed some repainting and retexurizing on part of our ceiling, Lee and his team were very punctual and professional. It's always refreshing when someone actually shows up exactly on time and gets the job done! There was an issue with the paint color/texture not quite matching the ceiling but Lee returned immediately and made it right without hesistation.

Had a little trouble communicating with the painters themselves as there was a bit of a language barrier. Also felt that where they had to patch the walls was not as smooth and blended as I would like. Other than that, the overall paint job was good.

I hired Coastal Touch to paint my entire house and garage (exterior). Tim was VERY professional, VERY responsive…. gave me a firm, professional quote the day after we spoke over the phone about the project. Told me which paint store he had an account at, told me to pick my colors and he would do the rest. (no money needed up front). After deciding on a color, Tim was at the house in 2 days, pressure washed and painted it top to bottom in 3 days. ... the job he did was absolutely flawless! hit every spot we discussed. Tim called me a week after just to make sure I was happy with his work. I would recommend Coastal Touch with any project! I will be using Tim again on future home upgrades!

Our house was flooded by Hurricane Matthew and we hired Don plaster, paint, install floors, and fix cabinet trim and bead board. Don was ALWAYS on time, communicated effectively, did what he said he would do, and the final product is a home that shows feels like nothing ever happened. We would certainly recommend him as we will continue to use his services for future jobs!

Mike and his workers come and to paint my bedroom, nursery, bathroom, hallway and laundry room. They kept the work area clean and neat while providing better service than what I had ever anticipated. One other time I used a high ranked painter off the web and they took things out of my home. This was several years ago but I'm glad I had such a great experience this time from such a professional company.

Bronell did such a great job that I recommended him to a friend and I hired him for more work before he left! I think the desire to hiring him again speaks as the best review to give but I'll also add - he's on time, responsive, informative, great value, great quality of work and all round nice guy! I even liked his choice of music - soft jazz!

I was looking for a painter for my daughter's bedroom and was so fortunate to hire Samuel. He is absolutely amazing- his work is perfection! Samuel cleaned and prepared the walls/trim, painted the ceing, walls, doors and trim. He completely covered the large king bed and dresser in the center of the room and covered the entire floor. NOT a drop of paint on anything but the walls! Samuel immediately responded to my emails during our negotiations and was always at our home when he said he would be there. He took his time and never rushed. If you would like painting done in your home or business I highly recommend Samuel!

Nate painted the new offices for my company and did a great job with it. He took the time to do it right, even coming back the following day both time we had him in to check on everything once it had time to dry overnight and touch up areas in need of attention. I would recommend him to anyone in the area looking for high quality paint work. Josh Davis Acesur North America

Sunshine and her team do Great work! They completly turned my space around from a project done wrong by some terrible “painters” I hired and fired. To beyond my imagination, their work is truly exceptional. Sunshine is more expensive than her competitors however her work does justify some of that cost. I will also add Sunshine was willing to work with me on pricing. If I had a con, it would have to be that I didn’t get a contract upfront before the work started, which in itself wasn’t a big deal. But, later the second day on the job I realized she wasn’t planning on doing my crown molding which desperately needed attention after the previous painters splashed paint all over them. This ended up being a upcharge to get done. All in all, great company, great work.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much do painters cost?

The national average cost for an interior painter ranges between $450 and $900. Interior painters can tackle everything from complete color makeovers in each of your rooms to touching up an accent wall to painting pieces of furniture. The square footage and complexity of the project, along with the materials needed, are the main factors that will affect cost. Other factors include whether you supply the paint yourself or want the painter to do so, whether you move the furniture and do the prep work or ask them to do it, and whether any repair work is needed on the walls. Painting the ceiling and the trim will also have an effect on cost. The type of paint you choose can also raise or lower your house painting cost. A gallon of paint may range from $20 to over $100, depending on quality and brand. Ask your painter if they charge per hour or per square foot, and how much you can save by doing prep work (moving furniture, etc.) yourself.

How much does it cost to paint the interior of a house?

Interior house painting costs are calculated on a few key factors. Nationally, interior house painting projects range from $200 to $2,500. The wide price range indicates how much square footage, paint selection and labor can affect cost. One pro uses a laser to measure each room, subtracting the size of the doors and windows, and then bases the quote on the square footage of the actual surfaces to be painted. Painters may provide you with savings if you opt to paint your entire home rather than just having one room or an accent wall painted. For example, the average house painting cost for an 8x12 room with 8-foot ceilings is roughly $200, when contractor-grade paint is used. Painting ceilings, baseboards and frames can also affect cost. Pros may charge per linear foot to smooth and paint baseboards. In one area pros might charge 50 cents per linear foot to paint baseboards, while pros in another part of the country could charge $1.50 per linear foot for the same task. Painters may charge flat rates for painting door and window frames, with one charging $20-$25 and another $60 per door. Geography and regional costs to do business play a major role in the cost of interior painting. The same painter in a rural region has less to pay in taxes, transportation, insurance and overhead than they would in a major city like New York.

How much does a painter charge per room?

The cost to paint a room will vary based on the size of the room, the type of paint you select, any ceiling or trim work needed, and any repairs needed. If no repairs or other additional work is needed, painting a room with contractor-grade paint could range from $1 to $2 per square foot, including materials. Selecting a luxury paint (some cost more than $100 per gallon) will certainly increase your house painting costs. Here are some additional examples of average house painting costs, per room:

  • 12x12 room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $125
  • 12x12 room with an 8-foot ceiling: about $100
  • 14x16 master bedroom with a 9-foot ceiling: about $150
  • 14x16 master bedroom with an 8-foot ceiling: about $125
  • 16x16 living room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $175
  • 16x16 living room with a 20-foot ceiling: starting at $225
