Overall, Tony did good work for a very fair price (lower than several other estimates). I hired Tony for a very budget kitchen remodel. We didn't change flooring or layout, but took down a wall and soffits, rearranged upper cabinets, installed butcher block counters and bead board paneling in multiple areas, built some open lower shelving, added in canned lights and undercabinet lights, and completed lots of other finishes.
In some ways, Tony absolutely went above and beyond - he searched Habitat for Humanity Restore for counter top deals while we were trying to determine the best counter type, he sourced great corbels off craigslist, he reinvented one of our upper cabinets by adding nice shelving to the side, and his communication was fabulous the entire process. Tony would always answer phone calls, send texts, and send along progress via pictures, which I really, really appreciated.
But, there are definitely a couple of critical, irreparable errors, that could have been avoided with better foresite. He installed my undermount sink as an overmount without asking and now it cannot be fixed (they tried a couple times to fix it but the cut of the counter wasn't clean enough to make it work). And he was supposed to use some flooring that was going to be covered up by open shelves to repair flooring from the wall removal but he forgot to get the floor out before the shelves were built. He did find a floor that is a decent match but it's not perfect. There are also some attention to detail issues (quick/sloppy painting on cabinets, nails not covered on bead board, countertop seams not very tight, etc). But I'm also admittedly SUPER picky, so I think these are forgivable since Tony really did try to fix all of these things.
In the end, I am super happy with my kitchen, and while it's not perfect, it is one million times better than before and still a great outcome for the price.
