FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I always try to help new customers understand one important thing because it is the one thing most don't comprehend, scheduling is not in my power. My schedule depends on many things that are completely out of my control, such as weather, my finishers schedule and the backlog at the concrete or masonry plants. It's nearly impossible to give a definitive start and end date. Also, if I don't get back to you right away, it's not because I have forgotten you! It's because I am the only person in the company qualified to run a job, attend appointments and send in proposals/estimates. I also like to have time with my family, which is sadly, very limited because of all of the demands I have to meet. So please be understanding of the time it takes for this process.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I started working in my field when I was 14, which gives me 25 years experience. I believe you learn by doing.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My father owns a masonry company, I started working for him at 14 years old. Since then I have been a foreman, an assistant manager and manager of some of the largest brick companies in Virginia, however, it kept me from my family a lot of times, so I decided to make the leap and start my own masonry/concrete company. Best decision I've ever made.
