- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I study photography every day. There's always something new to learn.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I'm not exactly sure. My dad gave me a film SLR camera when I was 13. I took it all over town. I dressed up my little brother in funny clothes and posed him, he was a gangster, a karate expert, a famous baseball player. And I took a really great picture of my foot. No, it was really great, I swear! In high school I took a photography class and loved the darkroom. Then, after getting my first DSLR, 14 years after getting my first camera, I took another great picture of my foot. I was actually amazed at how much my foot has changed. Seriously, my second toe didn't used to be longer than my big toe! I have proof! Long story short, I'm in this business because people change, and there's no other way to preserve our memories than to photograph them. I guess I'm a very sentimental person. Or maybe I just like feet. I love the idea of a man and wife looking through their wedding album on their 20th anniversary, or sharing their 'then and now' pictures of the Facebook of the future.
