Introduction: We have been designing and building ponds and waterfalls for nearly 20 years. We have pretty much seen it all and done it all. There are several steps to constructing a pond and although it's not cut and dry, one can not skip steps or the pond will not turn out correctly. I have seen many ponds where the water level is not uniform over the entire pond. There are low points or high points. These are caused by a failure to get a level shelf before installing the liner. (See Build a Pond in 4 Days) I love the creation part. Each time a customer allows me to build a water garden or Koi Pond and waterfalls in their back yard, I am truly grateful. I enjoy bringing projects that were just dreams to fruition. I enjoy returning to the ponds I've built tom perform the necessary maintenance to keep them going. When customers show my work off to their friends, I know they think of it as a work of art, and they truly are works of art.

Scott and his crew with Classic American Ponds built a beautiful pond with a small water falls. My wife and I always wanted one and they were able to construct it with out tearing my whole back yard up. We are closing it up for the winter, and just wanted to again say thank you.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
We have made a habit of creating our ponds in one week. Some do take longer and a few take less time. We recently completed a pond that was 4 feet deep, had a 5000 gallon flow system, and a two foot waterfalls. I thought initially we could complete the project in 4 days and we did. It's now on the internet if one Googles "Build a Pond in 4 days".
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Ask to see their portfolio and how long they have been in business. Discuss the type of stone to be used, the depth of the proposed pond, type of filter system, height of the waterfalls, and how to's about purification of water. Discuss the elements about when to add Koi and the future maintenance involved with maintaining your new pond.
