FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I currently charge $60 per hour in my home studio. I do offer a 30 minute free consultation 'lesson' for people who are interested.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I really like to spend some time getting to understand the goals and learning style of each singer I work with. It's really important to me that the singer feels safe to try things that feel new and make mistakes. Typically for the first few lessons we start with a lot of warm up/voice building exercises and then figure out a good piece of music to work on from there.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a music degree from The University of Virginia and studied at The Curry School of Education. I began studying voice 23 years ago with Tanya Kerr. For 4 years, I trained intensively for with renowned Bass, Francois Loup and currently study with Metropolitan Opera soprano, Danielle Talamantes. I have also spent the last five years exploring Alexander Technique and love incorporating its principles into my singing and teaching. In July 2015 I made my Carnegie Hall concert debut in addition to performing the role of Countess Almaviva in The Marriage of Figaro at Lincoln Center. My other roles include: Donna Elvira in Mozart's Don Giovanni, First Lady and Pamina (cover) in The Magic Flute, Le Feu and La Bergère in Ravel's The Enchanted Child. Though my roots are in classical music, I also spent several years singing and co-writing for electronic goth rock band, In Tenebris and write and sing for new dark cabaret project, 'Please Don't Tell.’
