FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
30 minute consults are $50 and allow you the chance to get to know me and ask questions. It's really a chance to see if you feel like I'd be a good fit.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Clients will schedule a 30-minute consult, if they are still trying to decide about counseling. It's a brief session, that's less expensive and gives clients a chance to know me and see if they think that I'd be a good fit. Other clients, who are ready, will simply schedule a first session. They'll visit my website to print off and fill out their paperwork in advance. With all of the intial paperwork done ahead of time, we're able to quickly get started on the client's immediate concerns. In that first session, we'll discuss what change the client is hoping to see in their life. What do they want to get out of counseling and how can I help them? We'll decide how often to meet and discuss what future sessions will look like. The goal of the first session is this: I want you to leave feeling like things can and will get better.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
After a finishing my Master's, counselors are required to complete a 4,000 hour residency. (Yes, that is a lot of hours). This includes extensive experience with clients, as well as numerous hours of mentoring, training and supervision. During my residency, I worked with a wide variety of issues and clients, including Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar, ADHD, Autism, Asperger's, Marriage and Family issues, Relationships, Parenting, Career development, among others. I found that I really like being able to listen and want to truly understand what a client wants and needs. I offer unique, creative solutions to help them move forward.
