Roger Frampton is an extraordinary tutor. He taught me PreCalc and a years worth of Calculus in 2 months. I passed my prerequisite Calculus class and I am now able to go to grad school for my MBA. I would have never been able to do it without him. By the end of our time together I actually began to enjoy doing Calculus. He is truly the best tutor I have ever encountered.

Laura truly did an amazing job with my resume. She is EXTREMELY qualified as an English teacher. I reached out to Laura on a Friday and met with her that same weekend. I explained to her how a job just got posted within my company that I was urged to apply for my upper management ASAP and I wanted my resume revamped to sound more mature and professional. Laura did just that. We worked on my resume TOGETHER for 2 hours and I feel so much more confident going into an interview. I highly recommend her for anything English related :)

Kathy has been a wonderful tutor for both my daughters, ages 14 and 16. She is able to connect and build a relationship with her students that builds confidence while they are learning, whether in Spanish 1 or Spanish 3. I highly recommend her for tutoring. Her knowledge and fluency is exceptional while still being able to meet the child where they are in their knowledge. My children's grades improved tremendously with her help. Thank you Kathy!

MaryAnna has worked with my son for 4 years. She had to practically start from square one with his letters and their sounds. He is now in 6th grade, reading at or above grade level and writing well thought out papers constructed correctly. She has the patience of a saint, and has customized each lesson for his needs. She has taught him the skills he will use to succeed at his college prep school.

Mr. Fullwood is truly an outstanding teacher. He was able to help my daughter understand the lesson concepts and taught her a new way of seeing Geometry. We look forward to more of his teaching style this school year.

        About

I've taught for 10 years at a high school in VA Beach. I have a degree in English with a teaching emphasis and graduated with honors from ODU. I've been tutoring students privately for one year, and I love it. It is rewarding to work one-on-one with students and see them improve. I can assist students in preparing for the English SOL, reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, study skills, organization, writing skills, poetry explication, analyzing literature, and timed writing tips. In my 10 years of teaching, I have taught 9th and 10th grade core, 10th grade inclusion, and 10th grade honors, and I am AP and AVID trained. I excel at reaching students where they are and building their skills.

        About

My name is Kevin Slaven, and I am studying for a master's in secondary education. I have years of experience as a tutor: first as a volunteer and then as a private tutor. I can tutor up to the 10th grade level in Math and up to the undergraduate college level in English. My schedule is flexible, and I am more than willing to drive to your location. It's natural for some people to struggle with the concepts in math or in language. If you or your child is one of those people, I am happy to sit down with you or him/her, get to the root of the problem, and put in the work needed to attain better understanding and ultimately better performance for my student. Overcoming gaps in learning can be difficult, and often, the time spent in the classroom is not enough. Experience has shown me that one-on-one time, focused on a single subject, can be the key to breaking down barriers in understanding.
