The contract was to remodel completely the guest bathroom so that everything had to be torn down, removed and the toilet was moved about 4". Chris, his tile man, did an outstanding job and offered great suggestions. Bob was also a great resource and did not charge extra for any unusual obstacles and worked closely with me as the project proceeded by sending me pictures, text messages and quickly returned any of my calls. This was important because this was my second home and I was often 180 miles away. In the end, the new bathroom turned out even better than I expected. Bob and his team are real professionals whom I came to respect and trust. Was clear that he was experienced in handling this type of work and had excellent contacts with other subcontractors, such as the granite people and the firm that measured and installed my seamless glass shower walls. I would certainly use Bob again for any such major project.

Bob has completed 2 major projects for me. A kitchen renovation and modifying an existing structure to incorporate a screen porch. On both, he was creative, on budget and easy to communicate with. Without a lot of fuss, Bob gets the project done! Bob makes sure that he keeps the work and mess contained and that it is cleaned up at the end of every day. He's great with pets too!

Coastal Contracting rescued my home sale with repairing all the (major) hits found by home inspection... Bob gave me an affordable price to make the required repairs to a roofing moisture problem, electrical code issues, and replaced all the cast iron plumbing leaving the house!!! all done ahead of schedule to make my home sale smooth, easy, and the new home owner happy!!!!

How did you get started doing this type of work?
By age 10 ,my father told me that I better get good with my hands because I didn't have the school smarts and probably wasn't going to collage. I knew already that I enjoyed building things and taking things apart. I could never survive in an office type environment.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Do your research. Most people only watch HGTV or read a magazine first. Try to get a realistic budget together. Not so some contractor knows how much to charge you, but so the seasoned professional contractor understands the limitations of the project. Everyone needs to be happy with the price and understand the complete scope of work. Otherwise ,some one is not going to be happy throughout the entire project.
