Matt and Megan are both truly great trainers. Their quality of work is amazing. I have consistently been lifting and exercising for more than 3 years now, but my sessions with them pushed me beyond what I thought I was capable of. They use very unique, effective and efficient training techniques, which makes for an extremely intense workout, even if only for 30 minutes. They have a great balance of light-heartedness and encouragement, to get through a session. They are big on form and targeting specific areas of the body with extreme focus. I started with funcfit as a part of my prep for my first NPC bikini competition. After 8 weeks of training with them, I felt more toned, solid, and confident than ever before. They also offer a great recommendation to a nutritionist/dietician as well. Overall I would and already have recommended to everyone to give them a try. Very satisfied with my experience.

I was looking for a nutritionist - someone who would provide a meal plan that would support me during my workouts but also help me to lose weight. Anita worked up a 4-week meal plan. I've been using it on and off (vacations and other things have gotten in the way). I've lost weight and look forward to continue losing weight. I've enjoyed working with Anita.

I am a Heart Patient. I recently was hospitalized for Congestive Herart Failure. My diet was a critical element of my eventual recovery and recuperation. Mr. Leeman was able to prepare Heart Healthy meals for my wife and I, which were delivered to my home while I was still to weak to prepare my own meals. Mr. Leeman prepared recipes for my wife and I for several months that had been reviewed by certified dieticians. I found his meals to be of excellant quality and quantity. I was also pleasantly surprised at how much variety Mr. Leeman could offer which really added to the excellent dining experience. As pleasant and pleasing as the food was Mr. Leeman also had a very good grasp on his scheduling which accomodated the food delivery and his pricing which is very economical. I knew that I was not Mr. Leeman's only customer, but his mastery of his business model made me feel like I was his sole employer. Additionally, I have on occasion hired Mr. Leeman to assist with food preparation for large groups dining at my home so have had the opportunity to observe how he works as a member of a group and how he supervises assistants. All of these skills are quietly rolled up in a pleasant and friendly young man. 5 Stars A very Satisfied Customer, Bud Merritt of Virginia Beach

I thought that Lynise went above and beyond what I was expecting from my appointment! I was very nervous and embarrassed about seeing the help of a nutritionist for several different concerns. She was prompt and on time, profession, friendly, and very easy to talk to. Lynise eased all of my fears and apprehensions and was personable and kind. She asked many detailed questions and really listened to my responses. She gave me a lot of great information and also sent me some follow up information on several things we talked about at our session. She is enthusiastic and passionate about what she does and it shows in her work. I am planning on a follow up meeting in 4-5 weeks.

It's been extremely rewarding working out with Kai adventure. As a trainer, Carlo is very attentive to what it takes to push me further during each workout. With the high intensity and strength training, I definitely reach my exhaustion levels at the end of each session. He's also very motivating, fun, and finds ways to make sure we don't give up. He's able to train a group at the same time and meet all our levels of needs. I look forward in continuing to work with Kai and can't wait to train in the new facility. I highly recommend Carlo and his team to friends, family, and anyone looking to improve their health and fitness.

I was initially referred to No-Bull Training as part of a physician-directed weight loss program. The No-Bull Training team developed a customized training plan based on my unique situation and physical challenges. My husband decided to join me when he saw how the program worked and how excited I was about training. The trainers take the time to educate us regarding any questions we have on goals, diet, or the training program. They remain mindful of injuries and ensure their program does not exacerbate, but helps rehab the condition. With open communication, we can trust that the No-Bull trainers will help ensure we do not hurt ourselves (sometimes despite my husband's efforts). And most important for daily motivation, No-Bull makes training fun! It is clear the team truly cares about the wellbeing and success of their clients, whatever the client's goal! Hands down, the best trainer I have ever worked with --over my 20 years of working with trainers. Eddie provided personalized planning and interactions that resulted in obvious progress without ever feeling too sore or injured, an important objective to me. He has excellent judgement, sound technical background and a fun personality.

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does a nutritionist cost?

A nutritionist provides expertise and guidance to help clients with all diet-related health matters, including losing weight, gaining muscle, improving their sports performance, and managing diabetes or high cholesterol. Nutritionists can help people learn to follow special diets in a healthy way, such as becoming vegetarian or vegan or developing a low-sodium or gluten-free eating plan. The average national cost of a nutritionist is $60 to $100. Nutritionists often require an initial consultation with a new client, during which they’ll take a medical history, assess the client’s nutritional needs, and determine the best course of action; this first meeting usually averages $100-$120 for a 45-minute to 90-minute consultation. Subsequent nutritional counseling sessions generally cost less, ranging from an average of $45 for a half-hour session to $60-$90 for a one-hour session. Like many professional service providers, nutritionists may offer discounts through package pricing. For instance, a one-month package with two sessions and email support costs an average of $190; a three-month package with three sessions and email support costs an average of $360; and a six-month package with six sessions and email support costs an average of $540.

Are nutritionists covered by health insurance?

Nutrition counseling can be a critical component of good health care, especially for people recently diagnosed with diabetes or high cholesterol who need to adhere to a specific diet. People also meet with nutritionists for help developing a healthy vegetarian or vegan diet, developing an eating plan to lose weight or gain muscle, or improving their sports performance by changing their diet. Nutritionists may be covered by health insurance depending on your reason for meeting with them. Nutrition counseling is more likely to be covered if it is part of a doctor-prescribed treatment for a particular medical condition, such as diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure or coronary heart disease. For example, Medicare covers medical nutrition therapy services only for people diagnosed with diabetes or kidney disease, as long as they get a referral from their doctor. Also, insurance providers more often cover nutrition visits if the patient has been referred to a registered dietitian within the carrier’s network of providers. Insurance plans vary greatly, so research your benefits before visiting a nutritionist.
