Susan and her team did a fantastic job handling our wedding at the OBX and everyone absolutely loved the bartenders! They will certainly work with you before your event as much as you'd like, but they were also so easy to work with on the day of the event, which is just as important. As long as they know where they need to setup and know where the booze/soda/ice/etc is, they've got you from there. Because of how our wedding ceremony and pictures timed out, we didn't have a chance to talk with them before they started setting up, but provided very basic instruction beforehand. Guests steadily started flowing inside for cocktail hour and by the time we came in ourselves, the bar was already very active and everyone was having a blast! When one of our guests spontaneously kept convincing different people to do mixed "white tea" shots, they even went out of their way on their own to premix a small batch to keep the bar moving! At the end of the night when they told us this, they even had another small batch made up to leave with us (which was very much appreciated and was also promptly consumed during the after party). Overall, the reception was a huge hit and Susan's crew were no small part of the reason. Being able (and required) to provide our own alcohol was a huge plus for us. Not only does it make it much easier for us to ensure a wide range of drinks would be available based off what we provide, but it made budgeting that much easier (and cheaper) since we have total control of the alcohol. Plus, we ultimately still get to keep whatever is not used (which was huge as we had a very full beach house for the rest for the week anyways). Additionally, Susans rates are exceptional. Hiring 2 bartenders for 5 hours was honestly more affordable than we had initially thought it would be. If you are on the fence about hiring vartenders for your event, don't hesitate to at least get a quote! We are VERY glad we did as it did make a huge difference. Thanks again, Susan!

Susan did a great job for us. We had planned an outdoor Halloween party but due to projected rain she was able to bartend for us a day earlier. She helped make the party an absolute success. She brought everything necessary and made all the drinks requested, even the “crazy” ones. I couldn’t have asked for better service or for a more professional bartender. We will hire her again for our next party and would strongly recommend her to all our friends.

Susan and Jess were fantastic for our wedding! A lot of people were telling me how great the drinks were (especially the margaritas!) and something that impressed me was that Jess sought me (the bride) out and asked me if I wanted something to drink because she could tell I was busy doing other things. Since we didn’t have a caterer, I had asked them if it was possible for them to switch out food that was running low and refill the drink dispensers if needed and they got that done for us! I also noticed them dancing and singing along with the music and generally seemed like they were having a good time while still getting everything done. I would gladly recommend them to anyone who needs a bartender for their event!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
~Event pricing, starting at $450 for a 4-hr function, with approximately 15 guests. 75+ guests for 4 hours, $475 (bar additional)~prices subject to reflect: location/mileage, travel time, set up time, break down time, clean up time, the type of event, the amount of people to be served, the length of the event, and the number of bartenders needed to effectively and efficiently service the event. When you contact me for a quote, included in the offer are mixers and disposable cups. We Do Not provide or sell alcohol. We serve it! I always tell my clients, “ you provide the venue, the alcohol and the ice. We got the rest”!
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to start communicating right away, either thru texting on the Thumbtack app or personal messaging. If you would rather have a verbal phone conversation first and discuss the details, that’s just as fine too! I’m flexible! Once you decide you want to “book” with us, let me know!..then I’ll get a contract over to you to get your event booked! Easy as Apple Pie 🥧!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been tending bar for over 20 years. So, in 2003, I decided to make it official and complete a 60 hour course at the American Bartender's Institute, and the rest is s history. In 2004, I had the opportunity to receive training at the Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control for the RSVP course, Responsible Seller's and Server's Program, In which I also completed. In conclusion, in 2007 I attended ABC's Retail 101 and became a member of the Wholesale/ Retail Team. I’d found my passion.
