Hired in April 2017. Received final drawings end of Oct 2017. Very long and drawn out, after being told it initially would take 6 weeks to complete. That being worse case scenario. Very straight forward project. Explained in detail and made clear what our budget was set at for this construction project. Poor communication. Delays in responding to phone calls and email. Now, have plans, and potential contractors are questioning the construction drawings. Details missing, pertinent to doing construction and getting thru permit process. And with current drawings, contractor bids are exceeding what was conveyed that our budget needed to be within when design was being established. Does not respond to questions sent, in regards to details missing in plans to get permits and for contractors to be able to have all info needed on their end. Paid a substantial amount of money for a product that may need additional funds to get it thru permit process, due to lack of details in finished product. Dissatisfied. Would not recommend. If you have a timeline you are trying to meet and need solid communication, I would recommend considering looking into other companies that offer this service.

Last message (in 2016) was construction drawings were at 80% then nothing further since.

Drawings were completed last month. There were many design changes and delays by the client. I was extremely patient with this client through the design process. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I do not have have a complicated pricing system. Most of my work is done on an hourly basis with an estimate for each phase of the project. There are a few clients who prefer fixed prices for the drawings. I can accommodate them as well.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically, I meet a new client at their home or office. I show them examples of my work (drawings and photos), provide fee estimates for each phase of services, sign a simple contract, perform the requested services and add them to my list of satisfied clients. How can I help you with your project?
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
It is extremely important to keep up on building codes, new products, weather concerns, current trends, design problems, material problems, etc, etc. In addition to my vast previous training, I continually pursue additional education in architecture, construction and related fields.
