I originally needed my light post outside fixed, but we had no power going to it. After troubleshooting the whole house (2 hours) he was able to not only fix the post outside but fix a couple of problem areas in my house from previous owners through the process. I am extremely happy with the professionalism the he provided. Did I mention he came the same day? Excellent service and I highly recommend.

Installation of two attic fans, and relocation of two light switches. Charles Kirchner and his partner came on time and got right to work. They explained the work they would do, and stated how long the job would take. Prices were reasonable, and the work was outstanding. True professionals, thorough and attentive to details. Will hire Arc Electrical Services for future electrical projects. Job was completed within just over two hours.

James at Southern Home Improvements was fantastic: professional, efficient, friendly, and cost-effective. He fixed all of our pressing plumbing issues at our house which was built around 1940, including: installing a water filtration system for the kitchen sink in a very tight space; clearing the main bathroom shower/tub drain by running a snake; fixing a leak in the main bathroom sink by replacing a part rather than replacing the whole faucet; fixing another bathroom's faucet pop-up drain assembly; and diagnosing a leak in the other shower/tub thanks to faulty tile construction. He also helped us figure out a tricky problem we were having with a DIY ceiling fan installation. In sum, James was awesome and helped us out a ton, and not only do we highly recommend him, we'll be calling him back for any plumbing issues we have in the future. Thanks James!

I had Mr. Tipacti install a ceiling fan for me (which included a new fan box since it was only a light fixture before). He showed up right on time and he was very friendly. Edgar completed the job (even put the fan together for me) and installed a remote fan switch. I was very pleased with his work and his price was more than reasonable. I would be happy to call on him again for future electrical services!

David provided an excellent service! My husband and I had been looking for an electrician to install 2 ceiling fans (no prior wiring) and a chandelier for a couple of months. We've received at least 10 different quotes (prices all over the board). We decided to reach out to David because his quote was extremely reasonable, he was very responsive and his reviews were outstanding. David showed up on time and spend the first 15 minutes explaining everything to me and giving me all of my options. Once everything was decided, he began working and didn't stop for the next 3.5 hours. He did a great job and then gave me a great price at the end. We couldn't be happier with everything and will use him in the future for any electrical needs. If you're looking for an electrician, I would absolutely recommend David!

After reading the reviews and seeing the consistent 5 star ratings, I chose to contact Garth of Graham Electric. Garth was fast to respond to my initial thumbtack contact (on a Monday night) and we communicated mostly through email, including after normal business hours. Once we honed in on a projected cost for the electrical repairs, Garth was able to fit me into his schedule within days (the same week's Friday). The delay from Monday night to Friday was on my end; otherwise, I'm certain Garth would have been on the job sooner. The electrical repairs Garth was to complete were as a result of a contingency checklist for the sale of my townhouse. To provide Garth with the full perspective of the job, I sent him a copy of the complete inspection report. If you know Mike Holmes from HGTV, Garth was all about “making it right”. The service was quick and thorough and involved only what needed to be done. For example, I was under the impression my attic fan needed to be replaced or at the least the thermostat replaced. In the end, all Garth did was a little cleaning and greasing and, presto!, it was working properly again. The original estimated cost was reasonable for the tasks at hand. However, because some of the repairs did not need repairing, the costs came down. I was very pleased with Garth’s timeliness and professionalism. If the opportunity arises to use his services again in the future, I will.

Dean did a great job on my project and was even able take on an additional request and install a plug for a microwave that I just had installed while he was there. Very fair pricing ... he was quick, efficient and very knowledgeable. I have found the only handyman I will ever hire and have already given his contact information to others - one of which recently had him install ceiling fans and was very pleased. Thanks for the outstanding work Dean ... you will be getting more work from me soon!!

The job included installing nearly 10 outside flood lights and extensive electrical work within my house (home automation) and installing a ceiling fan on a two story ceiling. The job was done expediently and efficiently. I was particularly impressed with the attention to detail.

I am extremely pleased with all the work that JT Painting and Home Improvement did for me recently (June 2015). I hired JT to fix the structurally unsound stair rail and newel post for my single-family home and he did a terrific job with the repair - it is as good as new without going to the expense and hassle of replacing it entirely. He also repaired/replaced interior doors, installed a ceiling fan, repaired various drywall dings and holes, power washed my deck and siding, and other improvement projects. The work was excellent and for a very fair price. He is responsive, returns calls quickly, gives you a least-cost option for larger projects and delivers on schedule. I will not hesitate to contract with him again for my next home improvement projects. He and his crew take pride in their work and it shows. The dozen or so small and larger projects that he did for me all went without a hitch - one of the very best experiences I have had as a homeowner for 25 years! Thanks for a job very well done.

Ioan (Johnny) did a great job, He is diligent. He installed 4 ceiling lights in our master bedroom. Even with attic access, the cable from the switchboard to the light had some obstacles, he spent a good amount of time to solve it but did it without drilling any holes in the drywall to find wires. It took longer than expected, but he didn't take any shortcuts. Overall a very pleasant experience.

I learned of and hired Chris from another Home Service Advisor but felt that other need to know about this quality contractor, so with that up front, here's my review. Project: Upgrade an Electrical Panel or Wiring This review is a long time in coming. I had been searching for an affordable electrician to replace a breaker panel that was on its last legs. I called an electrician from a highly rated company to diagnose and perform some emergency repairs. Seems our panel was on borrowed time. Several breakers were burned, cracked and yet another was buzzing in an unpleasant manner. The offending breakers were replaced and the verdict was that the main bus bars were just not providing good electrical contact. I needed a replacement panel. I got an estimate from another person in that company. A lot of discussion took place between the estimator and his company. Photos of the location and service were taken and e-mailed. I was floored by the magnitude of the estimate and the associated re-work that needed to be done to replace the panel and bring it up to code. Everything from an outside service meter mounted above the deck to the water pipes that passed the panel were all offending and needed to be relocated. We were assured that no inspector would sign off on a replacement panel without these accompanying modifications to the house. We followed with a few more word of mouth recommendations and finally reached an impasse when we found someone who would do it on the cheap if we purchased all the supplies. He was honest enough to admit that he was not a licensed electrician. I had used HomeAdvisor in the past and felt it was time to stop Yelping and get someone in who had been screened - qualified, licensed, insured, etc. HomeAdvisor gave us 3 leads. Chris Livingstone (we later connected that sense of humor with the Dead Rock Contracting name) and his helper, Mike quickly responded to our job description request. From the start, Chris listened to our description of the failure mode, what work had been done already, and our concerns about wanting to have this job done with the appropriate permits and final inspection. He was knowledgeable and had a background that enabled him to make informed decisions on what was required and what was fine if the job was a swap out panel replacement. He thoroughly checked our electric service meter, panel, and water lines. He gave us an estimate with our choice of two top name brand panels. When he said the whole house surge suppressor was included, not an option, I was completely surprised. That suppressor was a $350 option on our first quote. We asked for the panel brand, suppressor and building permit and inspection to be included on the contract. He seemed a tad amused and put it in writing. We were really impressed. So, we started with our wish list. We wanted to replace our dead front post lamp. No problem, do you want to save some labor cost and dig the 18" trench ourselves (yes, and he would run the wires inside of conduit). We have a dead roof mounted ventilator. Can you replace that too? "Sure, do you want to pick out your own fan or should I?" Wow, flat rate install prices as options. We loved it. A week later he arrived as scheduled and got to work. "No power for a couple hours, OK?" And with his head mounted flashlight he got busy in our basement. We felt really comfortable with Chris and Mike working together. Panel complete in less than one day, return visit to finish with the attic fan and deal with an unforeseen beam that prevented fishing a replacement circuit through our basement ceiling for the post lamp and he was done. Bottom line, the work was done neatly, quickly and on budget. We felt that we were in good hands. As a bonus, the County Inspector arrived and put his inspection certificate on the panel. Chris's work passed inspection on the first visit! Good guy, always returns texts, super polite and will definitely keep his card handy should we need his services again. Thanks so much Chris and Mike! David and Erica - Hamilton, VA
