This is my first time using Thumbtack and honestly, I am really satisfied with water heater installation from Walter. Our Water heater was leaking (19 years old) and needed immediate replacement since it was leaking. I was calling all over for the contractors for prices and they all ranged over $1000. Also, other contractors were willing to charge extra fees and unnecessary county code. Walter was professional and very kind. He explained in details about the water heaters and purchasing county code is not necessary. He also showed up at home depot 7 in the morning and picked all the necessary parts and water heater. All I needed to do was to make the purchase. Also, he delivered water heater to my home AT NO ADDITIONAL COST. He finished the work in a timely manner and cleaned up well. I am REALLY satisfied with his service. Walter is going to my plumber and I am going to introduce him to my friends and neighbours. His labour cost is very affordable and reasonable compare to other contractors. I was able to save hundreds of dollars in labour cost. Overall you will never regret hiring Hi solution and Walter is the guy. He is a licensed contractor.
James did a great job balancing lots of little projects in my home--installing a new fireplace door, doing drywall patches, adjusting doors that wouldn't close. He took the time to alert me of issues and enabled me to provide input as he was completing the jobs. I'd hire him again.
Leonardo is honest and reasonable in his pricing - he is conscientious and diligent in his efforts to do a good job and always makes sure you are satisfied - if there is an issue, it's typically minor and he always takes the time to correct it to your satisfaction. His work ethic is strong and he works tirelessly, often well beyond normal working hours, to finish a job on time. There is, on rare occasion, a minor language barrier but if you take your time it is always manageable. Leonardo cleans up after himself and puts his tools away before leaving for the day - he is not always on time but he is very good about letting you know he is running late, usually via text. I would definitely rate him as a 5 star contractor. He did all the tile work, some drywall and all the framing in our basement project to date and plans to help us with the last few things as we complete the project.
Currently finishing up laying tile in my basement. Looks great. Detail oriented. Worked with our schedule. I would recommend Matt to anyone!
NBF repaired the damaged drywall ceiling in my garage. Nico was prompt for the agreed upon appointment time. He was very friendly and professional. The work was great and for an affordable price. He also cleaned up the site nicely. I recommend his company and will contact them for work in the future.
Ivan arrived on time and was professional. He was able to also install 4 recessed lights in another room in addition to installing the drywall in the basement.
We needed our basement floor leveled and stained, so we sought a few concrete contractors for estimates. Bullfrog Contracting arrived early to meet / discuss the project and they produced a detailed estimate within 24-48 hours of said meeting. The pricing was very reasonable and there were no surprise charges. Bullfrog communicated when they could start the project and how long the project would take to complete. Extremely transparent process. The project was carried out according to plan. Again, no unfortunate surprises. Bullfrog provided excellent customer service throughout the process to ensure the project was completed to satisfaction... even coming back to complete some additional / ad hoc work on the basement. We're happy with our new basement floor and we'd absolutely recommend Bullfrog Contracting!
If you’re in need of a reliable, honest and get-it-done general contractor for your home remodeling needs, Al and his crew are the GO TO GUYS! We recently had a rather large basement remodel project where we took an unfinished space (approx.. 900 sq. feet) to a home office/ dental laboratory finish. There were a lot of moving parts involved – all new electrical/ mechanical/ plumbing; installation of egress & small sliding window(s), walk-out door w/ retaining walls and pavement; added bathroom & work/equipment room. Al took the design plans from a paper to presence, and really worked with us to stay on time and on budget. From the initial consultation, he took his time to go over details of the project and provide us with a written proposal on the spot. What was also appreciated was that he used upgraded materials rather than standard builder supplies, which really makes a huge difference in appearance! Al and his guys are meticulous, detailed & very clean – at the end of each work day, the floors were always swept & materials put away. Another consideration for us was trust since my husband & I weren’t home during the day. I can say with complete confidence that you can trust Premier Home Services to do their job, in your home without supervision. We will definitely use them again for our next home project. Thanks Al!
I have owned a Design Business for over 30 years dealing with both commercial and residential projects. I used Thumbtack to find a reputable contractor to renovate a kitchen for a new Client. As my reputation is very important and my work is only as good as the contractors I hire, it was critical I find an experienced contractor for the job. Raul came highly recommended. HE IS INCLUDED ON THUMBTACK, ANGIE'S LIST, AND LINKEDIN. He was prompt, so courteous to the Clients, professional, and completed the job on schedule. The job was left spotless at the end of the workday. And the quality of his work was amazing. It was a pleasure to work with such a professional who takes such pride in his work and I am looking for more projects to include his work because it enhances my own! THANK YOU, RAUL, See you soon! Mike and his partner, Don, were great. Mike did some extra reinforcement framing around the dog door they installed just to make sure it was solid. Don has a background in outdoor landscaping and identified and fixed a broken hose on my fish pond when I mentioned something was not working right, even though that wasn't part of the original scope of work for the day. These guys are flexible, friendly, and really good at what they do. Which appears to be just about everything!
I had Unique Homes (Simeon) complete 4 different projects for me, each progressively bigger. All of them were successful -- although not without little issues that came up now and then, but that were always taken care of. The prices were very good and the jobs were done well. Job #1 - I had a front porch that needed concrete work. This was a relatively small job, but it was done well. Job #2 - This was a remodel of small bathroom. Again, the job was done well and was a good price. And Simeon indulged us owners half-way through the project when we did not like something about the floor tiles we had chosen. Totally our issue, we did not really like how it looked when it started getting installed. But he undid some of his work and we were able to fix it. Job #3 - This was a full bathroom remodel, so a more significant job. Again, this project was done well, but the costs savings really started to come through on this project. We were very happy with the final look of the bathroom. Job #4 - This was by far the biggest job. It was a complete remodel of our master bathroom. I had received various quotes from other contractors in the $30-40K range for the project (including materials). Simeon's prices were less than a third of that, however that did not include any of the materials. In the end, I think the materials is the source of a lot of the savings since I think the others hide mark-ups (or store kick-backs) in the materials. For this project we went to some high end stores and looked at their display designs and chose/copied what we liked. We chosen something that was based on a white marble tile as a base ...and Lowes/HD carried it at a fraction of the cost of Tile City. I think we saved $5k on the marble along. We bought some of the more unique accent stuff in Tile City at full price, but for everything else we were able to replicate the Tile City look with HD or Lowe's materials of equal quality. We bought a high end shower panel, but bought it through Costco. The same fixture at a high-end bathroom store was thousands more than what we paid. At some higher end stores Simeon would give us the Unique Homes discount that he had negotiated. Some places (like the glass doors for the shower) were still expensive...but I ended up with the same bathroom that would have been $40k for about $20K. So yes, I recommend Unique Homes.
The work (new door frame and door install) was completed the day after the fair price estimate was given - i purchased the door and materials (list provided by the company) and they picked it up from the hardware store before arriving at my home. Ignacio did a great job framing the door and fitting the door up and at the end it looked like the door had always been there. At the end of the job he took great care to clean up also. Very satisfied.
My husband and I are glad we hired H&R General Contractor, to remodeling our basement. As soon as we requested information from H&R General Contractor, Renzo reached out to us and answered all of our questions and gave us different options based on what we wanted. Renzo was always available and every time we had a question, he was there to answer it. We wanted our project done by certain date and this company did it. We got what we wanted and the way we wanted it. We will definitely use this company again. Renzo, thank you for everything.
I asked Torsten to assist me with getting my townhouse ready to be sold. We thought it would be a few days of work. Surprise! We found termites all through the back third of the house. His crew came in, tore out the damaged areas, completely re-framed the wall, replaced a damaged window, sliding glass doors, and re-decked a back deck. Then they re-modeled my basement for me. The results: I placed the townhouse on the market at $325,000 on a Saturday with an open house on Sunday. Monday, I had several competing offers that resulted in my getting $345,000 for the property. Torsten's crew were all exceptionally well trained and experienced. I've had a lot of work done over the years but Torsten's was by far the most professional workmanship I've seen to date. I'd hire him and his crew again without hesitation.
Rewired the basement bathroom and dropped a box in the laundry room. Flexible with his schedule to accommodate our needs.
The job included a full condo remodel of 2 bathrooms. 2 bedrooms, kitchen , painting entire home, replacing carpet with vinyl flooring , designing modern flush doors, designing a fireplace , replacing all electric outlets and switches etc. ECR helped transformed my home to a modern contemporary condo and were very professional and meticulous in getting the job done. Mr Cirilo and his team are also very responsive to requests, keep to schedule and offer such excellent customer service and warranty for all services rendered. I plan to use this company again for any other interior design needs I have in the future as I've worked with several contractors in the DMV area in the past few years but ECR is the best at what they do in my opinion!
I have used Doug on a small project and he was on time, fair and did very good work. We are going to use him on finishing our basement and possibly a covered front porch. I would recommend him without hesitation.
I don't usually write reviews but I had what was a big job to me (the framing of my next home) come out so far beyond my expectations that I felt compelled to praise John Johnson as well as Javier Pez and his crew for their exemplary work on my new home. They made it happen exactly like I wanted. I am not experienced but they are and I am so pleased with how they took the drawings and made it happen. From concrete foundation with stem walls to a fully framed house in a week. Amazing. Could not be happier and it is so rare for me to have something go so exceptionally well that I just really want to thank Encore Builders and Thumbtack for bring us together. Job done was beyond expectations and I would highly recommend Encore Builders to anyone who wants exceptional work for a very competitive price.
John is great, he recently framed my ~1700sqft basement and I will hopefully have more work for him as I continue the project. He takes pride is his work, is reliable and flexible. John provided many great suggestions that the design didn't account for and he delivered high quality results.
Isaac's Business arrived quickly as promised, did a terrific job of my leaf cleanup and charged me $100 less than the next bidder. Needless to say he earned a tip, and I've kept his name in my files, and yours too!
Chuck has done 2 projects for me and my husband. The first was an 750 square foot addition to my home. And the second was finishing off my basement. He went above and beyond. He save me a lot of money on an architect by drawing up the plans for free. He also beat all the other contractors estimates by 10% I would highly recommend
