Joy was fantastic! From the first email to the wedding day, Joy was patient, kind and an excellent officiant for our special day. She helped us create the perfect ceremony and vows and I couldn't imagine a different person standing up there with us on our day. Thank you again, Joy! ~The Runners~Oct 21, 2018VerifiedWhispers of Joy's reply
Thanks so much Lesley! It was such a pleasure meeting and working with the two of you and sharing in your joy! Thanks for allowing me to serve you!
I had selected a lady to officiate our ceremony a year in advance, yet the more I interacted with her the more I knew she was not right (she was not who my husband to be and I thought she was). I tried to make it work as we had already done so much with her in preparation--but I intuitively felt she was wrong for our ceremony. I found the courage to tell my husband and we let her go one month before the ceremony! I knew there was someone out there that would flow easily with us--and instantly we get us----that is when I found Joy:) Joy is amazing and I found her via social media and trusted my intuition that she was the one for my husband to be and I's wedding. It was a picture of her showcasing her deep soulful eyes that instantly convinced me she would be the one for our ceremony. Sounds strange but very true---I could see she would "get" what we were about and be the best to help us make it happen. When we spoke about the flow of the wedding and the many aspects we wanted to include she was extremely helpful and insightful and intuitive about us---confirming what I had already seen in her picture. We connected---she is a very special human being and an extraordinary officiator. I had made the time for the ceremony to be 10am a year before the date---I was pressured by my Mom to change it to a later time--but I felt that it was the right time--I could not explain at the time why----and once I talked with Joy--I found out why--10am was the only way she would be able to make our ceremony as she had another at 2pm (2 hours from ours):)!!! She also agreed to help us even amidst her saying goodbye to her elderly father (driving from VA to FLA to be with him). She has a wonderful heart and intuitive grace. So my experience with Joy is one of serependity, joy (just like her name), love, and grace. The kind of person and presence you would want to officiate your special day.Nov 7, 2014

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I have a basic fee for a standard ceremony within thirty miles of my home. When I have to travel, or I am spending time writing unique vows and putting together a ceremony from bits and pieces of my large collection of ceremonies, or if I am to participate in a rehearsal, these are all extra fees.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I am always keeping abreast of new rituals and wording for ceremonies, as well as keeping up on my writing skills, as I frequently write personalized ceremonies for my clients.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?I had written a book of inspirational messages and one of my readers asked me if I did wedding ceremonies. After some groundwork, I became a licensed officiant for the states of Virginia and West Virginia. I also have the ability to perform weddings in Maryland.
