Susie made me feel at ease. Having no knowledge in playing the piano, I feel she explained quite well what I need to know to start the lesson. Admitting she has tremendous patience made me even more comfortable at my age of 76.

TOTAL SCORE finding Suzie!!! Son started at 8yrs old, is 11 now and KILLIN the piano!!! She did an incredible job teaching how to read sheet music, the lessons were set to build confidence and fun. Our job as parents is to have him practice 30 mins a day (we do 5-10 min blocks), She is ALWAYS available to ask questions between lessons, has made videos to help my son during the week, AND when he asked to play Kid Rock, Elvis and Jerry Lee Lewis songs, added those to the classes. AWESOME!!! Absolutely Happy and Definitely recommend her for your child!

As an adult returning to piano after decades, I found Suzie to be an amazing teacher who has empathy for where her student is at the moment. Always encouraging and understanding, there is never a stupid question for Suzie so I know she is also excellent with children. Suzie is excellent in teaching theory as well, in ways that are clear. Moreover, Suzie is willing to teach favorite songs if you have them, and she seeks out music that is appealing to the student. I highly recommend, without any reservation, the Dotson Piano Studios for both adults and children.

Mrs. Dotson is one of the most experienced, patient, kind, knowledgeable, and gracious professors. We have had other piano professors before but none truly as wonderful as Mrs. Dotson. She demonstrates genuine interest in the growth of her students. She caters her teaching towards the individual interest of her students in order for them to reach their true potential and keep the classes always interesting and challenging. Consequently, she's an amazing professor for students of all ages. We can't rave enough about her. We always recommend her to any of our friends who are looking to either have their children or they themselves want to learn not only how to play the piano but also music theory, virtuosity, composition, and develop an authentic love for piano music of all genres.
