FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
POA&M Structural Engineering requires an initial fee or retainer, part of which is non-refundable. The non-refundable portion of the fee covers the initial site visit, the company's scope of work (SOW)recommendation, a review of available documents, the development of a DETAILED estimate, and agreement. The client has the final say on the SOW. Following the client's review of the SOW & acceptance of Estimate, if an agreement is developed and signed, the refundable portion of the retainer is applied towards the final bill. If an agreement is not reached, the refundable portion is returned to the client.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
With the exception of a longer introduction and the exchange of contact information, the typical process does not change. Each process starts with defining of the task. POA&M Structural Engineering requires a retainer, part of which is non-refundable. The non-refundable portion is for 1) the initial site visit; 2) a review of available documentation; 3) a recommended scope of work; 4) a finalized estimate for structural engineering support services based on a client defined scope of work; and 5) the development & finalization of an agreement. (NOTE: The client defines the SOW. POA&M provides a recommendation, but the client has the final say. If, in POA&M's professional opinion, the client defined SOW may represent a risk to the client's desired goal or is not technically feasible, POA&M will notify the client. If an agreement is reached to provide structural engineering support, this information will be added to the agreement.)
