Troubleshooting needed to determine issue
Jordan was great. I needed a new hard drive and so he ordered me one right away, it came in two days and he had the computer fixed and ready to go the next day. He was very busy so I was pleased with the fast then around. Plus, my computer is running great now! Jordan has an impressive repair shop going in Burlington.Oct 26, 2014Verified
Excellent, prompt, and professional service in addressing both software and hardware issues for 2 laptop computers. Cost was significantly less than other computer repair outfits. They work again just like new. I highly recommend Jordan wires.Oct 9, 2014Verified
Actually do the repair. I brought in a Microsoft Surface Pro with a small crack in the screen. I got it back with a much bigger crack than I originally had. They offered $50 off the quoted price. I was baffled why I was being charged to make it worse. The owner would not come out to talk to me about it. It was very unprofessional. He made me wait for such a long time that I finally walked in the back. He told me that I was not allowed back there and I had to leave immediately. I told him that I could not pay them when they made it worse. He lectured me on how much the part cost and that he did not have time for this. He is a very inexperienced, unprofessional young man (???) who does not know how to deal with his customers. Do not bring anything here for repair. He took my computer to the back room and said if you don’t pay I will keep it. This is a kid who is full of himself. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. Worst customer experience of my life. I was unpleasantly surprised to find this in Burlington. I would have rated this 0, but there was no option.Mar 17, 2018VerifiedWires Computing (iPhone, iPad, Laptop and Desktop Repair)'s reply
John I would like to address your concerns and inform everyone on what happened. Unfortunately your report of the situation is a bit one sided to make us look bad without clearly explaining what we did and what ACTUALLY transpired. You brought your device into us over 2 months ago on Jan 24th according to ticket #8115, the ticket was closed 1 week later. Leaving a review 2 months later blurs the facts and shines us in a bad spotlight even though what happened and how things went were a bit different. Luckily we keep thorough notes in our system. You had brought in your Microsoft surface pro 3 which had a broken screen AND a software issue causing it not to boot. I believe you may have left that out which is very relevant to the situation which I'll explain later. When you brought it into us the corner was slightly dented from the drop which caused many cracks across the screen. We quoted you at $300 for a screen repair which included the software fix to reset the unit so it would turn on and boot into windows properly. We went ahead and ordered the screen as soon as you dropped the unit off. During this 3-5 business day time waiting for the part we were able to successfully fix the software problem allowing the device to boot and function normally. After receiving the screen we continued ahead with the repair as normal considering we have done many of these same devices before. While we were installing the screen, one of my technicians (who routinely works on these units) noticed the slight dent in the frame which we tried to un-dent as best we could but while the screen was "curing" it cracked from the excess force of the frame which was no longer shaped perfectly. We didn't anticipate this to be a problem so alas it cracked. Given that the crack was just the corner about the size of a dime or less which DID NOT go over the usable screen [like the original crack] we figured it would not impede the usage and as such felt it would be appropriate to keep on the device and offer a discount. Also keeping in mind the device was actually usable now versus before when you brought it in with software issues. We did not make it "worse" in fact we fixed all of the issues when you brought it to us. As the owner I am very busy dealing with many things, my employee offered the discount that I suggested and you were not happy. In fact you felt that all the work we had done was worth nothing and you shouldn't pay anything. I can understand your point of view, given that I am a customer to many other businesses as well, but the time we spent fixing the software issues and replacing the [well over $100] screen to make it much better is worth something. I do understand the unfortunate nature of this with the dent but it does not make our efforts and a properly functioning device moot. As I was in the back working on projects you forced yourself into the back which is clearly labeled as "employees only" to argue with me in a very aggressive behavior feeling as though you should pay $0 for everything we had done and you didn't care to accept my offer of a discount knowing that I empathized with the situation. In the heat of the moment, yes I did say that if you did not want to pay then I would keep it as the boisterous arguing in my lobby was not something I wish to have happen. In the end we came to [what I thought] an amicable conclusion to charge you for the software reset which I ended up eating the cost of a very expensive screen, given that we could not agree on a discount even though the crack never impeded the usage and as we showed you with the original crack was much smaller and less then a dimes size. I would encourage others to read our 100's of happy customers reviews all over the internet before thinking we are unprofessional/inexperienced and/or don't care about our customers. This was an unfortunate 1-off situation that I wish could not have happened or worked out better for us all, trust me when I say I built my business over 4 years ago on customer service, and our vast array of services we offer that other repair shops cannot.
Jordan was very professional and efficient. I brought a MacBook Air laptop to be repaired; the screen had sustained damage and needed to be replaced. The repair took a little longer than I had hoped (8 days total), but that was because the part had to be ordered and took a while to come in. Jordan fixed it the same day that the part arrived, and the computer works perfectly now. Cost was $500...a little steep, but a lot cheaper than buying a new laptop! And apparently a lot cheaper than having taken it to Small Dog. I would recommend Wires Computing to anyone needing repair of a computer or smart phone, and I would definitely go there again if I needed help. It was almost painless!Mar 18, 2015VerifiedWires Computing (iPhone, iPad, Laptop and Desktop Repair)'s reply
Thank you for bringing your macbook air to Wires Computing. In regards to the slight delay in the shipment, the item was ordered and shipped on Tuesday march 10th and was delivered on march 17th 1 week later. As soon as the item was delivered the screen was repaired the same day. Due to the damage on your macbook LCD the part was higher then normal. Thank you for your business!

Repaired my severely damaged screen within 45 minutes. The finished product was so great it looked like an entirely new phone. Pricing was also incredibly reasonable. If it is ever needed I would go to wires computing for more phone repairs.Dec 30, 2014VerifiedWires Computing (iPhone, iPad, Laptop and Desktop Repair)'s reply
