Taking music lessons as an adult, i largely expected to feel the way i did taking lessons as a child. I never would have expected to learn everything from basic theory and technique to being able to compose pieces for multiple instruments within a month. Scott's approach is professional and relatable which is rare in a music teacher of his pedigree. I'am afforded an opportunity to grow as a complete musician with his ability to take daunting musical concepts and make them immediately understandable to a layman. I really do believe that whatever your musical goals are, he is a more than capable teacher. Its also worth noting that whenever i have had any questions throughout the week, he has taken the time to respond at length.

Jan is very good piano teacher. She is patient and fun with my kids and she is very flexible about the schedule of the piano lessons also. Good rate for her piano lesson comparing to the market. Highly recommended.

Aleta has been a joy to work with. As an adult beginner I wasn't sure what to expect when starting piano lessons. Aleta has been encouraging and fun to work with. With only a little over a month of lessons I am clearly learning to play and enjoying every minute of it. Definitely suggest-- great piano teacher!

Tara has a way with her students that makes them feel at ease and confident. In just two lessons my 8 yr granddaughter has learned so much. She has never played before and now she is excited to continue. We are very pleased that we choose Tara to start music lessons with.

We unfortunately only attended one of Bryan's drum lessons .(only because my four year old wouldn't practice). Bryan was great! He even had on Aladdin, upon us arriving which made my daughter extra comfortable. It was a great ice breaker for them to talk about. I would absolutely recommend Bryan to anyone needing drum lessons ages kids to adult.

I always wanted to learn to play guitar, and tried several times to teach myself without success. The idea of taking guitar lessons was super intimidating to me, but I decided to give it a shot, and I'm so glad I did. Ryan is an amazing instructor. His passion for teaching is obvious, and I feel like I learned so much from him in a short amount of time. He addresses all the things any new player faces such as a lack of confidence and bad habits. Right away I felt comfortable and encouraged, and I looked forward to lessons every week. The lessons motivated me to want to practice and work through everything I was learning, and they were always fun. Ryan has a great sense of humor and a knack for using pizza metaphors to explain music theory :) I can't say enough great things about my experience, and I encourage anyone considering lessons with Ryan to definitely go for it. You won't be disappointed.

I’ve been studying guitar with Mary for about two months now, and I can’t say enough good about her. tl;dr: Mary will understand and support your goals for guitar playing, and she is beyond capable of helping you reach those goals. First, Mary is very supportive and cognizant of my goals as a musician. If I had a song in mind that I wanted to learn, I’m absolutely sure she would help me learn it. As a beginner, however, I don’t have anything in mind and happily play the tunes she gives me. Speaking of tunes, she has so many on hand. Every week she gives me new sheets with songs that cover the technique we work on. Mary’s extensive lesson repertoire certainly helps fulfill my goal of expanding my musical vocabulary to more artists and genres, all while developing my skills on guitar. Similar to her supportiveness, Mary is also very understanding yet insistent. As a busy young adult, on average I work eight to ten hours a day and follow a daily workout regimen to boot. While my goal is to practice guitar at least 60 minutes per day, on many days I don’t have time and fall short. Despite less-than-ideal practice, Mary accommodatingly works around the progress I make (or don’t make). At each lesson I can consistently expect help with last week’s trouble areas in addition to new material — Mary sure likes to press on. Can you blame her? There’s technique to master and songs to learn! :) On her teaching style, Mary is very creative. She customizes her lessons to the individual, and — I really like this about her — she tells me exactly what she wants to cover at the next two or three lessons. This way I know what she’ll teach, and I have the opportunity to discuss what I want to learn (e.g. scales, barre chords, etc.). With decades of guitar study under her belt, she can teach anything. By “teach” I mean make you really understand. She has countless analogies, anecdotes, and demonstrations for helping you learn or improve any technique. She’ll try things until it “clicks” for you. Teaching creativity like Mary’s is an invaluable skill that will undoubtedly help any student she has. To end on a light note, Mary truly is a spectacular musician. Her playing is effortless and always a joy to hear. She makes even the beginning things I’m working on sound musical and fun to play. Mary is a gem of a teacher, and I can’t recommend her enough.

Jeremy has the credentials and skills to teach music. But above that he is personable. Able to teach new skills or correct old bad habits. I come away from my lesson feeling uplifted and feeling that whatever talent I may have has been affirmed. I also feel that I can do anything because Jeremy believes I can Good with all ages.

Elaine has been teaching 3 of my children piano lessons for 3 years now. She has since added a 4th. She is patient and encouraging yet firm. She makes sure they strive to do their best and teaches strong technique. She also include improv, ear training, and chords. Rather than just sticking to the books, Elaine is constantly coming up with fun, creative ways to reinforce the theory the kids are learning.

Scott is a true mentor, and working with him shaped not just my technical vocal skills but my identity as a performer in musical theatre and straight theatre. He expanded my belt range significantly, in ways that were healthy for my vocal chords, and he helped me develop a mixed belt that let me move throughout my vocal range with greater finesse and control. Lessons with Scott are focused and fun, a perfect mix of overall technique and specific, practical work on songs — for example, he often helped me prepare for auditions, and we would then work together to shape the vocal possibilities of each role I was cast in. His deep knowledge of the range and history of musical theatre is impressive and very helpful; I also learned so much from him about the context and history of what I was singing in my lessons, and he is able to suggest great audition songs! Most importantly, Scott connects with and cares about each of his students as individuals, and as performers and vocalists, and this shows in the growth he elicits from them, creating a supportive environment with high expectations accompanied by a caring guidance that makes it possible meet those expectations (provided of course, that you hold up your end of the bargain and practice daily!).

My daughter has only had two lessons with Aaron, so I do not have a long term relationship to base my review on. However, I can say that Aaron was very prompt at returning my emails and phone calls . Very professional in how he approached making financial arrangements and scheduling our lessons. He provided references for me to check with. He offered a complementary initial lesson. And perhaps most important, when I pick up my daughter from her lesson she has a smile on her face and says Aaron is very nice.

We just started our daughter's lessons but Cayce is a well organized and professional who loves her craft. She has been very helpful in answering our questions and determining our short and long-term goals. Her website is very well done and a great aid in tracking our daughter's progress, lessons, and for communication.

Holly really gets children and how to infuse them with a joy of learning music! Her musical instrument of choice is piano but when she teaches the little ones music they are gaining an opportunity to learn the foundations of music, rhythm, and most importantly the wonderful feeling it gives them. Holly is such a caring individual and talented musician whose love for music is one that she cares for this expression to move through generations. The activities, experiences, and techniques she gives students are unique and truly created from her. My daughter and I love Holly both as a teacher and human and our musical experience with her has been nothing but positive and valuable. At age 5 my daughter has a firm foundation of music she never forgets. Pretty amazing!

Our daughter has taken voice lessons with Aaron for about 3 years and really loves her time in his studio. Aaron has a wonderful ability to connect and has really helped her become the confident singer she is today. Bitterlake Studio is an extremely warm, positive, safe and inspriring environment and Aaron is the most supportive teacher. He is a very talented musician and a passionate and artistic person. His presence puts her at ease with a confidence to explore her strenghts and weaknesses. We are so grateful for Aaron making it a challenging but very fun learning experience for our daughter.
