Introduction: Hi! My name is Ms. Foster and I provide private piano lessons (in person or virtual) in Saint Peters out of my home studio. I have been teaching for over 25 years and am a master teacher, working with all ages and ablities. I received my BA in music from the University of Puget Sound and enjoy all kinds of music. About 4 years ago my family moved here from Seattle. I usually start students off with a lesson book, theory book, and performance book, and as they become more proficient, I add a popular book, and exercise/scale book. To set up a free trial lesson please email or text me on my cell and we can meet at your convenience. Usually students take a 30 minute lesson once a week for a session. If they are more advanced, a longer lesson is recommended. I offer in-person lessons with masks. I always have students wash their hands (even before Covid), remove your shoes, and wear a mask. I teach Monday through Thursdays. I look forward to being your piano teacher!

My 11 year old daughter started lessons with Ms. Foster in January of this year. She started with only the musical knowledge she received in elementary school. Ms. Foster guided my daughter quickly through beginner books and was able to skillfully identify where my daughter was in regard to musical understanding. She challenges her students to try pieces outside of the piano books which I feel helps my daughter stay committed and focused on piano growth. I don't know how she does it, but she is able to fit in the theory of music, learning notes, and teaching piano pieces in her 30 minutes sessions. She is very supportive of her students and has gone above and beyond to make sure our daughter is moving forward and feels comfortable with the piano and at her studio. She cares that her students succeed and offers additional times for the kids to come in and practice special pieces before competitions or piano festivals. She has a great, clean studio in her home. Even before the current pandemic, Ms. Foster had superb cleaning and hygiene procedures in place including having the students immediately wash hands and even take off their shoes to eliminate germs and dirt in their workspace. She adheres to the CDC recommendation of wearing facial masks while teaching. Ultimately, Ms. Foster is an excellent teacher. For two parents who have little musical training, Ms. Foster has made guiding our daughter in her musical endeavors effortless and I would recommend her to anyone who was looking for piano lessons.

Lessons are by session, and average around $24/lesson. There are no makeup lessons unless the instructor cancels or can’t make the lesson. If you can’t make it physically we can always do an online lesson.
