Emerald City catered our 20th anniversary party for 200 guests in Gas Works Park, Seattle. They were fantastic. They were flexible, super easy to work with, their food was delicious and beautifully presented, they provided even more than they had promised, they were excellent communicators and provided a turnkey operation from start to finish. I loved working with them, will definitely use them for our next event, and heartily recommend them.
This was for my granddaughters Sweet 16 Birthday Party. We had about 30 guests and we rented a hall. I needed someone to help setup the tables prepare the food and make sure food and drinks didn't run out. I had never thrown a large party like this before and didn't really know what to expect. Jessica came in and asked me some questions as to what I wanted and then took over. She was very professional and very quick. The food and drinks were prepared and displayed perfectly in a buffet style. She even assisted with the birthday cake letting the birthday girl cut the 1st piece and served to the other guests. She also cleaned everything and had the left over food packeged up. I am so glad I hired Jessica and so thankful to her for everything she did. The party wouldn't have been as great if it weren't for her and I certainly wouldn't have been able to relax and enjoy the festivities.
The Great Surprisal was hired to be our event coordinator as well as serving as our emcee. This is an annual dinner/fundraiser for a small non-profit. Amelia worked with us from the beginning finding a caterer, hiring musicians, working with venue, coordinating volunteers for our silent auction as well as other parts of our evening. We increased our net income by over 25%! We had used the venue before but with the creativity and cost conscious Great Surprisal we had a totally transformed 'gym' from years gone by. Past attendees commented on the greatly improved environment, excellent food and the overall sense of a better-planned event. We will work with The Great Surprisal again and encourage others to do so. Last year we worked with The Great Suprisal as an emcee only. Customers should definitely check out 'Gina' as an addition to a party or event. We are very pleased with The Great Surprisal's work ethic and creativity of working on a limited budget.
We hosted a dinner party for 10 at our home. Nola and her assistant Flo prepared an amazing meal, from appetizers through dessert. Nola was so easy to work with through the planning stages and had great ideas for how to optimize our home and time with our guests. As if the delicious food weren't enough, she also made sure the kitchen and dining room were clean before she left, which was an added bonus to an otherwise exquisite evening. I would highly recommend her and will not hesitate to call her again when we entertain.
We worked with Shelby for almost a whole year to plan our wedding. We were out of state for most of the time, but she was great with using Skype and keeping a timeline of tasks. We would have regular meetings to go over ideas or plans, but she was always available and answered in a timely manner if we had a question outside of our meetings. The most important aspect is that she really listened to what we wanted and the day turned out better than I could have imagined! Shelby made the whole process stress free and we didn't have to worry about anything the day of. I would highly recommend her for any party/wedding planning or decorating/designing needs.
I have to say at the beginning we were not to convinced about having a wedding planner. Then we realized that it was our day and we didn't want to be running around like crazy the day of our wedding. We started looking and saw that you can have a coordinator for the day. We were trying to save some money. I met Michelle at the wedding expo. I stopped just to ask about there service and she was very nice, professional and helpful. We set an appointment and from there we realized it was well worth it. They listened to our ideas, our concerns and to everything. They gave us ideas and lots of info. Everything was perfect the day of the wedding. Nichole did an amazing job. To this day we have a lot of friends and family members who give us a lot of good compliments about our wedding. They also commented on how organized, smooth, beautiful and how wonderful of a job she did. I highly recommend Michelle and her team. Nichole took a big weight off of our shoulders. She was on top of everything. If you are thinking of having a wedding it is worth it to have a wedding planner. I highly recommend it because you will not regret it a bit. 10/10 amazing experience. Angela was a great resource, and I would like to sing her praises. Leading up to our wedding day she made herself available at any given moment, text, email, phone calls, she responded to every question or concern within the hour. We met for no less than half a dozen times, where we discussed everything from design ideas, etiquete, timelines, budget, rentals, contracts, and honestly the who/what/when/where/and why of OUR wedding. She knew all the right questions to ask to help us turn our thoughts into reality. Before we knew it our wedding day was in a week. Everything was in place, and it just needed to happen. This is where she shines. Angela wrangled everyone from the wedding party, the photographer, the rental deliveries, the venue personel, i mean everyone. She made sure they all knew exeactly what their jobs were, and that they were there to do them. I was completely hands off for this last week before the wedding and it made the process so much less stress. On the big day she ran it like a Swiss watch. Everything ran seamlessly, period. Our expectations were high, and they were blown out of the water. Thank you a million times over Angela. We couldn't have done it without yoi.
I used Royal India Kirkland for my catering needs to host my son's graduation party and they did a great job! Planning the menu was easy and they were responsive and flexible and able to accommodate some changes over the week. Food was good and they took good care of setting up, serving and cleaning up, which made it a lot easier for me!
Karen is a pleasure to work with and really takes the time to understand your needs and wants for your party. She works with you to come up with a personal design and makes everything come to life . I would recommend her to anyone who is looking to add something different to their party or event. Her candy buffet was a totally hit at my birthday party. For the kids or for the adults, corporate event or birthday party, you won't be disappointed!

Shauna did a beautiful job for our party to celebrate my daughter's college graduation. The entire process was stress free and the food was delicious and beautifully presented (especially the antipasto platters).

My company recently hired Matthew for our 70's Disco themed Holiday Party. Matthew was a huge hit in every way imaginable and we'd hire him again in a heartbeat. Everyone was pleased from top to bottom, along with saying it was the best party we've had so far.

Wow! She was absolutely amazing from our first meeting all the way through the end of our wedding. Great communication and extremely organized. She was worth her weight in gold the day of the wedding, because our DJ no-showed and she did not panic. She was able to find someone last minute after making over 20 calls. The guests had no idea that there was a problem. I would recommend her hands down. If you don't think you need a "day of" wedding coordinator, think again! She takes care of all the LITTLE details and in our case a BIG detail. Thanks Jen, you are the best!!
We used Close to Creative for my son's 3rd birthday party, and it was perfect! Elliott is really into the Octonauts, so the Close to Creative team created a whole Octonauts/underwater adventure theme for him. There were elaborate reefs (both edible and non-edible), tons of sea creatures, and a gorgeous jellyfish hanging over it all. The food was all ocean themed and delicious. They had me use Pinterest to communicate my vision, then took it from there. Using the Pinterest medium was so easy and providing visuals like that left no ambiguity in either of our minds about what we were looking for. Elliott had a great time and still talks about his Octonauts birthday, months later. I was too busy watching him marvel at everything to take many pictures myself, but the Close to Creative Team captured it all, so check out their website!
