Working with Chef Cyndie was a wonderful experience! I had a unique request for her to cater an event for friends (out of state) who had just welcomed their first child. Chef Cyndie was so accommodating with my tight time frame, and was so helpful in selecting a delicious menu. I have received so many compliments since Cyndie delivered the catered meal for 6. Everyone loved all the entrees and sides she prepared. Chef Cyndie had also been to the market that day and dried out some fresh oranges for the new Mom to snack on. The service was excellent! The food was tasty and everyone loved it! We had hors d'oeuvres comprising of salad, pot stickers, beef lettuce cups and chicken satay. When I spoke with Cyndie about what I wanted, she gave fantastic recommendations on how to spruce up what I was thinking, like suggesting a sweet-chilli sauce. - What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I am working on my mixologists license and would love to start learning more about regional wines and work on my sommeliers license.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?My mother hated to cook and that was reflected in her food, as a teenager I discovered that I enjoyed not only eating well prepared food but the preparation itself was fun, that's all I needed to continue on and develop my love for food.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?Unfortunately not all people are good. This spring I catered a 150 person wedding for a very nice couple who had been swindled out of $2,000 from a caterer. When I met them it was a referral from someone that I had catered for and as you can imagine they were a little gun shy. I cut them a good deal for what they requested and provided them with a tasting menu and delivered it to them. Their wedding went off without a hitch and they both came up to me during the event and told me that "This is the best Wedding food we've ever had!" That's why I'm in this business!
