FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We can give generalized costs for most of the types of work we perform but most of our projects are very labor intensive and very task-specific. So we like to develop line-item estimates.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Usually we discuss their project over the phone and get a general idea of the scope of work. We can sometimes give ball park estimates over the phone if someone is just looking to get an idea on cost. Once we know the project and the client are a good fit for us we will schedule a site visit which will include measuring and photographing the site. During the initial visit we will ask a range of questions to not only find out what the client wants but why they want it. Once we get a better feel for what the client is trying to achieve we can discuss options or make suggestions on how to best help them with their project. After we have flushed out the scope of work we will discuss the rough costs and what the budget for the project is and then come up with a game plan on how to bring it all together. If the scope, budget, and rough costs are close to lining up we will then proceed to the next step which is to either develop a simple plan view drawing or go straight to a line-item estimate. If the project has multiple facets or has a complex layout we may choose to go into a design contract. Otherwise, once the client receives the estimate and specifications of the project we will look to then contract the project.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our staff has a background in residential construction, engineering, horticulture, and landscape construction and design. Our crew members are typically certified through the NCMA, ICPI or other vendor specific certifications.
