Sylvia has a lot of experience and is very knowledgeable. We adopted a German Shepherd and him being our first dog, we didn't realize what we were getting ourselves into. She gave great practical training and advice. We feel so much more confident after our session with her. Highly recommended!
Martha was very helpful and knowledgeable. She was very thorough and helped us better understand our dog's behavior. We adopted our german shepherd mix about a year ago and have been trying to resolve the issues on our own but have been unsuccessful. We are so glad we hired Martha and got her assistance. She showed us how to fix our dog's issues on the leash and now our dog is enjoyable to walk, when before it was always a battle. She also helped us with our dog's barking and anxiety around strangers. Martha seems very passionate about helping dogs and their owners and even gave us a follow up phone call after our visit. We are also glad that we hired her because she is available by phone if we need any further assistance. Overall, great experience!
We have been over-the-moon pleased with Ana of Optimum Dog. She has been successful in helping us through a difficult time in our lives training us & our 1-yr old German Shepherd. Without hesitation I highly recommend Optimum Dog for their enthusiasm, the way they customize the training program for the specific pet & family, and especially for how much they love their 4-legged clients.
What an outstanding dog trainer! She had our Aussie doing commands on day one that left us absolutely speechless. We're looking forward to our upcoming sessions!
I absolutely love Lise! (Long post but very honest). We adopted a 1.5 years old border collie/brittany/terrier mix from a shelter about 8 months ago. I have worked in shelters before and knew perfectly well that is not uncommon for shelter dogs to experience some trauma or carry some trauma from past experiences. Knowing this, we still went all in and got our beautiful Daisy, however she indeed started to display multiple issues after a few weeks of having her at home. It was very hard at the beginning to try and understand what was happening, what was going through Daisy's mind and how we could help her. She was very loud and excitable, she reacted to a dog that came close to her and then she reacted even worse in a few other occasions. After doing some online research I came to articles that described her behavior as "Fear based aggression" and that it was recommended that I seek professional help. After about a week of researching and reading reviews, I decided to give PAWS A Foot a call. Lise was SO nice over the phone and listed to me as I explained to her everything that had happened. She was patient, honest and super knowledgeable, she told me that it can be worked out and gave me options to move forward. After the first call, we decided to schedule a first assessment. This only confirmed even further that Lise was excellent and that we wanted to continue working with her. We trained with Lise for about 5 months to address the first set of issues and we have seen so much change and improvement from the positive training approach that Lise uses. One of the things that I am most grateful to Lise is the fact that she was very honest with us. Letting us know exactly what she believed was going to be the optimal outcome and what we can and cannot expect our Daisy. This helped us tremendously to understand that our dog had certain issues that might never change but that she can learn to tolerate. Lise has also helped us connect with other local businesses, like groomers, agility trainers & dog walkers. We are still training Daisy & we reach out to Lise when we believe we can move forward and add more to our training plan.
After just 2 sessions I'm already seeing tremendous improvements with my dog, an 11 year old shepherd mix rescue with dog-aggression issues. I recently started working at Amazon and want to take my dog to work, but her behavior with other dogs (barking, growling, lunging) would be unacceptable in the workplace. I am confident Jevry will quickly get my dog to be well-behaved around other dogs. Jevry also very honest, talking me out of a 9 session training plan, telling me she thinks a 5 session plan would be enough. Her price is a great deal; it would be hard to find such a good trainer at this price.

We have a 100 pound 5 year old German Shepard that was aggressive to other dogs while on leash. They helped us understand his behavior on leash. They are still helping me be more consistent and watch and understand the cues my dog is giving me. I appreciate their patience and true passion for helping did owners help their dogs.
Shawna was fantastic! The difference she helped us make with our Shiba Inu, Mika, was huge. Shawna was positive, patient, and fun to work with. Mika's favorite part of the week became when Shawna came over. For a dog who didn't listen and had some situational aggression, the difference from before and after Shawna is night and day. I HIGHLY recommend her!
We have a 4 year old German Shepherd Dog, Lila, that is a perpetual puppy--extremely high energy and playful. We were having a lot of issues while out walking or hiking with her because of constant pulling and leash reactivity around other dogs. We found Julie and were immediately impressed with her resume of handling large dogs (Malamutes) and training them through positive reinforcement. Julie has been full of valuable tips and strategies that have focused on positive reinforcement, repetition, and the gradual increase of distractions when training. After several sessions and lots of practice in the neighborhood, we are really starting to see results. Taking Lila out for a stroll is now much more pleasant and manageable. We have thoroughly enjoyed working with Julie and would absolutely recommend her!
Daphne was awesome!!! She worked with the entire family on how we could better communicate with our young German Shepherd. Knowing what your dog needs and teaching him to understand what you need is KEY!! Very knowledgeable lady!!!! A+++
Alana was fantastic. She met with us all at our home. She got to know us and our dogs. Then she spent personal time going over any concerns. Showed us the best way to train each of our dogs. It was a fabulous experience. We recommend her to anyone who is looking to train their dogs.
We hired Kyle's dog training to help with our dogs Aspen and Ryder. We have seen positive improvements in Aspen's confidence with social issues and coming to us when she is called. Ryder had issues with meeting other dogs and walking on a leash, he has come a long way since we started our private lesson with Kyle. Thank you Kyle :)
Carol at Northwest Dog Retreat is truly exceptional. I adopted a small dog from an animal shelter and was extremely overwhelmed in the beginning when I first began to discover some of his behavioral issues. As a first time dog owner, I was unsure how to deal with his fears and also my own. I knew I was not equipped to train a dog with fears and aggressions on my own and I was thankful to have been able to find Carol at Northwest Dog Retreat. Carol really took the time to listen to me and my concerns, and with her knowledge, help and guidance, Bruno has totally turned around and is more outgoing and expressive than ever. She is caring, intuitive and truly has a special way with animals. She has given me tools, tips and support through out the process and I am so grateful to have met her! Not only does she help with behavioral training in her own home and well as public arenas, she has boarding and the retreat location is beautiful! Plenty of space for dogs to run and play and enjoy. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone. Her true passion sets her apart from the others. Thank you Carol!
Becky was recommended to me 6 and 1/2 years ago after Raffle, a rescued Great Pyrenees and Dutch Shepherd, year old male, indicated that he might be willing to work with me (a wheel chair user). We had taken him to puppy training as a 1 year old and had two other trainers in to help. Becky was attentive to my needs and could 'speak dog' better than anyone I had met. We worked together for a shorter period than either of us expected because Raffle learned so quickly. He uses his own problem solving techniques to help me with mine and adapts to my changing needs. Becky has stayed in touch all these years and taught me how to teach Raffle. I now have "The Greatest Service Dog in the World" as Raffle is known at the Veteran's Hospital that I use. He has been through 9 Hospital Admissions with me as well as traveled and been in 1000's of situations. Raffle and I am Eternally Grateful to Becky who showed us how to be such a successful team. Becky we look forward to your invaluable ability in teaching Raffle's replacement. Thank you Becky you definitely are the best!
Randi knows her stuff! She is always taking classes to better her knowledge of dogs, dog training, and behavior. She brings that knowledge into the classroom and you can tell. Her methods are well vetted scientific based and proven time and time again, while being extremely humane and efficient. We can't get enough of her classes!
Worked with Cameron with a rescue German Shepherd that was a mess! Contacted 1 other trainer that didn’t understand the breed and gave awful advice. We were trying to get this dog healthy and sound for a permanent home and it was crucial that he was safe and not pet smart quality trained. Cameron to the rescue! Cameron fully understood the breed and what training was needed for this type of dog. He not only worked with us on training . He was available to support by phone last minute when I ran into challenges. He was fully invested into our success. I am happy to report Vince is living a healthy, happy life with his brother and another female shepherd in New York. We couldn’t have made this happen without his work.
Nea is absolutely amazing! She is doing an amazing job training our German Shepherd as well us teaching US how to keep up on his training. She doesn't just train your dog, she has SO much knowledge about common problems with breeds, how to deal with problems a dog has and dog nutrition and what is best for them. I very strongly recommend her to anyone looking for someone to train there dog!
I highly recommend Aisha! She has done outstanding work last year with my 3 month old male dobie. The board and train option was the perfect choice to develop Bodhi into a well-mannered and confident puppy! She truly cares about both you and your pet by teaching you how to become a strong leader for your pet. As Bodhi grows up, I know I have the knowledge and tools that Aisha provides to ensure his continued growth and maturity into adulthood and an important member of society! Thank you Aisha!!!
Lindy helped us a lot in only 3 hours! I highly recommend her!
