I hired Shawn Nichols for a corporate event which took place in late February 2016. Shawn definitely deserves all five (if I could give any more, I would) stars and a glowing review! I will admit I was hesitant to hire someone off Thumbtack it was my first experience using Thumbtack and I didnt quite know what to expect but he blew it out of the park, completely delivered and really exceeded any of my expectations, with his work for this event! Shawn is going places with his photography, professionalism and strong work ethic and I look forward to following his career. Part of me hates to write such a great review for my own selfish reasons I want him for all of our events! :] Shawn was hired for our annual corporate Employee Appreciation Event, which I fully planned (and attended) for the first year since starting with my company. One of the things I had noticed about previous years events was the lack of good photography. I had seen previous years photos and thought they really left something to be desired. When I put out a bid on Thumbtack looking for photographers, Shawns website and artwork jumped out immediately, I believed he could deliver. I spoke with him first on the phone and let him know what I was looking for more artistic shots and his time, thoroughness and genuine excitement was clearly evident from our phone call. It seemed like he was exactly who I was looking for. About a month before the event, I called Shawn and asked him if he could meet me for coffee that week, to have about a fifteen minute meeting to discuss some items for the party. He went out of his way (literally) to be flexible to my schedule and that fifteen minute meeting turned in to over an hour of his time sitting in Starbucks and talking Photography. From there, he then drove with me to Joann Fabrics to hand-select a backdrop for the event that would photograph well and tailored to my vision. This whole afternoon he spent meeting with me and shopping for photography backgrounds was unpaid. He didnt have to do these extra things, he just did he was really going above and beyond before the event even took place! Fast forward to the day of the event. Shawn and his two assistants (oh yeah he brought two additional photographers to help him capture the night. I really felt we got a huge deal here because for the price of one photographer, we really got three! This was just another way Shawn went out of his way to ensure our event success) came a few hours early to set up one of our photography station backgrounds, and the get shots of a list of things before the event started. Leading up to the event, Shawn was incredible thorough in his communications; answering phone calls and emails quickly and in detail. He even thought of details I hadnt and prompted me to provide a list of shots I wanted to get prior to the event, during the event, asked for an event timeline and for specific individuals whom he and his assistants should be aware of. I really appreciated those questions in retrospect, as I think they really added to the coverage of the event, and with the laundry list of to-dos I had leading up to the party, I appreciated him taking the time and initiative to look out for our ultimate priorities photography and otherwise. Shawn and his assistants Rachel and Jeremiah were extremely professional, gracious, thoughtful to guests and efficient. They not only succeeded in my hopes for an hour of couple photos as guests arrived, then roaming event coverage; all three of them really went above and beyond to make sure every shot on that shot list was completed. Our guests loved having the backdrop couple photos, and I loved having all three of them there photographing it was amazing to get the extra coverage during that couple photo hour that I didnt know we would have! Shawn let me know the timeline of when I should expect photos delivered back, as the party wrapped up that night, but delivered a few days earlier. He met every goal I had with the photography aspect of the event. I told him several times that he was the easiest/best/nicest/most efficient vendor or staff I had working on our event, and I really do mean that. The photos back to me were in several files, so easy to open and access, and ranked by him in order of importance (for me). His love of photography and art is intrinsic and clear in his work. His photographs are beautiful and really highlighted the event for me, my company and so many of our guests. I look forward to having and using these photographs for years to come! During the time I was planning the event, and had been working with Shawn, I saw another opportunity come up within my company which I suggested Shawn, and he was hired for. Those pictures came back prior to our event, and when I saw those beautiful photos, I knew i was going to be happy with his work on the event. I cant say enough great things about Shawn Nichols. You are lucky if you get the opportunity to hire him for any event, wedding, party, or general photography needs. Shawn will make you feel like you are his only client, and will really take your vision and bring it to life. He is so genuine and charismatic and it is wonderful to see someone excel at something they love, and do so well! I look forward to working with Shawn (and hopefully Rachel and Jeremiah too!) on any future business, event or personal photography needs I have!
Reid is awesome! My husband and I used his videography services for our wedding and are thrilled with how the videos turned out. Even in the wind and rain we had that day, Reid was dedicated to capturing our big day and he did a wonderful job. He is clearly passionate about his work. Highly recommend!!
Paul and Stephanie of Emerald City Cakes and Chocolates (and their crew!) did an amazing job for our wedding reception in Seattle, WA on 4 October 2014! I would recommend them to anyone looking for a caterer! Our reception was held in a very small venue (with no kitchen) and they went above and beyond to provide hot and delicious food to our guests! They arrived at around 2 PM to get set up and worked almost until 11 PM that evening. We hired them to do everything: food, drinks, the cake, and bartending (no uncorking fee either!). Paul, Stephanie, and crew are the nicest people who genuinely enjoy their jobs and it really shows in the service they provide and their attention to detail. Their prices are also extremely reasonable and they were willing to create a menu that fit with our needs (some-what dairy free) and theme (Oktoberfest-fusion). We currently live in Chicago, so everything had to be arranged via e-mail and both Paul and Stephanie made a great effort to make sure all of our questions were answered in a timely manner. Now, here it is. The food. The food! Our guests are still raving about the food! There was plenty of food provided and it was delicious. Some of the highlights: The bacon-beer-cheese sauce for the potatoes (or for some guests: the sauce for everything), the potatoes themselves, the tomato soup with grilled cheese sandwiches, the pretzel bites, the bratwurst, the squash ravioli - I would probably just list the whole menu if I could remember it all. We also chose the Tuxedo cake and it was phenomenal! As a bride, I didn't have to worry about anything. When it was time for the toasts, they had the champagne flutes ready to go. When it was time to cut the cake, it was ready and waiting for us. There was more food than our guests could even eat (a feat of its own!), and Paul offered to donate the leftovers for us. Paul, Stephanie, and crew provided genuinely outstanding service for our wedding reception and allowed us to simply relax and spend time with our families and friends. I wish we could be more regular customers, but at least now we have a go-to caterer for any more events we may have in the Seattle area! Highly recommended! Such a great find! We just watched our wedding video! It was an amazing video that we will treasure forever! It is clear that Dan devoted so much time this video- making sure all of the details, guests, and special moments were captured! The wedding day is a blur because there was so much going on, but with this video it brought back so many great memories and many things we didn't even see! Dan arrived to the venue on time and went above and beyond our expectations! I would highly recommend him to be your videographer!!
our original officant fell ill and 2 weeks before our wedding we contacted reverand martinez. he did a superb job officeanting our wedding. he gave us a great ceremony. He put in his own prayer and said a nice word about my mother in law that passed away just before the wedding. Would highly recommend him for your wedding.
James is hired to do my wedding. He's been an amazing contact, very informative and super helpful along our journey. My wedding is now 25 days away and James is still helping us wrap things up before the big day. I couldn't have done this on my own, thank you James!!!
I was very impressed with the quick response I received after making my initial request. Mark and Linda had provides their services for my wedding 4 years ago and I was a happy to be able to reach out to them again. They were early to the event and had everything set up and all of the bugs worked out hours before the event. I hired them for my mother's 60th Birthday and gave them a general idea of what music she likes (which is basically everything) and they were able to put on a great party. They even hosted karaoke, which was a surprising hit with all of the guests! The sound, the lights, the mics, everything was on point. At the last minute I inquired about their photo booths, expecting to be told it was too late to add it in, but they were happy to provide and provide my mom with a child of all of the pictures. Soundbox is my go to for party entertainment! Thanks guys!
Jason was amazing! I am a first-time married, mid-life bride so capturing our event with great photos was top priority for me. Jason delivered! He was organized, on-time and had even scoped out areas for optimal photos at and around our venue in advance of the wedding day. He was fun, flexible, creative and made great use of the time we had hired him for. I highly recommend Jason for any photography needs and will most definitely be using him again in the future. We highly recommend Kyle! He was excellent and so nice. He was creative and very easy to work with. He had great ideas for locations which was a big help to us from being out of the area. Kyle also is very willing to help with other wedding services due to his contacts from his photography career from working other weddings and knowing many vendors. From the pictures we have gotten so far we love them!

Marcella was very professional and punctual, and her easy-going personality put me at ease. She was flexible and open to changes I wanted after my hair and makeup trial, for my wedding day. On the big day, I looked great and got lots of compliments! I would highly recommend her.

We had a fabulous wedding and Tara was a large part of making that a reality. Tara is detail oriented, flexible, and most of all, an amazing chef! I enjoyed working with her and would recommend her to anyone looking for great food at a reasonable price for their event. While looking for a caterer, I found many quotes excluded significant costs such as Chef time, server time, etc. One quote doubled once these were added to the estimate. Not so with Tara. Her quote was accurate. She was upfront about the total price per plate and there were no surprise costs. Tara provided a tasting that was VERY reasonably priced. We brought along a couple friends for opinions and were blown away by the feast before us. There were appetizers, a salad, at least three main courses, and four or five sides. The tasting really showcased Tara’s talents and made it easy to choose her as our caterer. Once we had booked with Tara, she was available to discuss our menu as our needs evolved. When we added extra rentals and food to our contract, Tara took everything in stride and made it work. On the day of our wedding, everything went smoothly. We have received praise from multiple friends and family one of whom described her food as “Top notch”. Our day of coordinator told me she enjoyed working with Tara and would recommend her to future clients. Thank you Tara for being so wonderful to work with and making our day one to remember!

My husband and I had a great time working with Julia and Heywood. We were not an easy group as our wedding party is 15 people in size. Both Julia and Heywood were so patience throughout the two days working with us. What I love the most about working with them is their genuine attitude and excitement when they see opportunities for good shots throughout the day. It excites me whenever they say something like "omg the lighting here is perfect for..." Julia listened and took in all of my request photo asks and I could not ask for more as on the day of of your wedding, you really don't remember any of it. =) HIRE THESE GUYS! Highly recommended.
I was referred to the site by a friend and I was really impressed by how quickly I received a response after reaching out to them. They were very professional and took so much of the stress that comes with planning a wedding off my shoulders. They were able to make my $ go alot further and make the most out of my budget, were still a month away from our special day but if they handle the actual event with even half of the enthusiasm and professionalism they've shown planning it, I know it will be perfect!
Joy catered our wedding on Whidbey Island, WA on 08/02/2014 and she did a fantastic job!! She came to our house to do the private tasting bringing all of the dishes with her and left us with the leftovers! Everyone at the wedding loved the food. We got the buffet service and it worked great! They were timely, professional, and they went out of their way to set up and take down without being in the way. Great service all around!
Lauren is amazing! She is so easy to work with. Very professional yet personable. She made us feel so comfortable with both our engagement pictures and day of wedding pictures. She knows exactly what she is doing and is able to get those long family/bridal party pictures done quickly without losing any quality.
