Theo was very prompt and well-worded in our communications, and set me up with a tutor in my area quickly. I'm looking forward to more of my Japanese language lessons!
Learning English with Rebecca is fun. She started with doing an assessment of my level and adjusted to it, so we could pick up right there with improving my English. In our teaching lessons, we concentrated on different topics, such as idioms, and had different study books that I used for my homework as well. Thanks to Rebecca, I could expand my vocabulary and grammar. During the conversations with her that are part of her teaching, she kindly corrected mistakes I made what helped me to improve as well. She is a very nice person that creates a good atmosphere, what is an enjoyable experience and helped me in improving my English. In addition to educating the language itself, she also tried to impart additional information for example about the country and region where I live now to better acquaint myself with the environment. I can recommend her as teacher.
Scott was my tutor for French as I want to brush up on my language skills to go again to France in the spring. He was just a superb "coach" in getting me through the complexities of French. I immensely profited from my working with Scott, and as the new year arrives, I am going to meet with him occasionally to "re-charge" my language skills.
I have been working with Philippe since August 2017 and have enjoyed the French lessons he's provided. He's always on time, is willing to work with you on whatever you like whether it's spelling, grammar, conversational French etc and goes above and beyond to prepare for your lessons. Lessons are equipped with worksheets and uniquely formulated activities to get you where you to go, A+!
Lisa is a great instructor! She is knowledgeable and the lessons are flexible and customized for the individual. I'm enjoying my experience!
I have known Lynn Wilton for 25 years. She tutored me in English as a second language, and then in English as well while I was a student at Edmonds Community College (1997-1999). I have found her to be a very enthusiastic, creative, dedicated and patient tutor with excellent skills in improving my speaking, reading and writing. I received a very good GPA of 3.94 in my English course. Lynn Wilton is a excellent English tutor, and I strongly recommend her to anyone who needs help in English.
Kalina is a great Brazilian Portuguese teacher! She is patient, fun and encouraging. We go at a pace that is challenging, yet not too uncomfortable for me. She gives me time to grasp the lessons and answers my questions thoroughly. I had a mental block with irregular verbs and she has helped me to overcome it. She also answers my questions about Brazilian culture and customs, which enhances my learning of the language. I HIGHLY recommend Kalina as a language instructor. She is the best!!!
Renato is a tremendous asset to anyone attempting to learn Portuguese, whether starting as a complete novice or trying to understand the nuances of Brazilian Portuguese. He has a command, understanding and method that greatly enhance the learning process. He is adept at explaining the subtleties of the language, and he makes each lesson entertaining. Using Skype as a teaching medium also works quite well. Materials can be exchanged in advance for review. During each lesson, Renato provides a running commentary on terms that arise during the lesson, areas for review, and corrections. This is particularly helpful as it provides the student with a reference that is tailored to each lesson. If you have a video connection and setup, then a video Skype session is even better. I would recommend Renato highly to anyone with a genuine interest in furthering their development and understanding in Brazilian Portuguese. He has helped me greatly.
Piyush is absolutely wonderful and is great with kids! My son looks forward to going to him and get his English lessons. He also does his homework without any fuss. From everything I can see it is a great environment and learning center for kids!!
Laura taught me English for several weeks. I received excellent corrections on pronounciation and grammar. The fun about learning at Laura's has been one-to-one Skype sessions, direct feedback, socially oriented outline of topics, flexible approach. I chose for personal lessons and learning in a group would do the job as well!
I started working with Theo in February 2015. I found him very engaged and very enthusiastic about the subjects he teaches. He has a very deep understanding of the language arts and always willing to work with you on a curriculum based on the student's needs. I am an adjunct instructor at UW, and I will gladly recommend Theo any day. Don't hesitate to call me for references. Best, Ilanko.
When I first met Brian, I will admit, I was a bit nervous and wasn't sure how well his teaching methods would work for me. But after my second lesson, I realized how exceptional he is. Brian is engaging, fun as well as patient. Which are key elements for me in learning a new language. He is also good at finding ways to fine tune his lesson to help you progress. Not to mention, his rate per lesson is quite affordable. Having started with no background in Dutch, I am more confident in my ability to speak and will practice during my trip to Belgium. For these reasons and more, I would highly recommend him. Brian thank you for everything and you are awesome!
Nicoletta is a competent and qualified instructor. She presents her lessons with structure, great observation skills, and discipline to the tasks. She is the first Italian teacher I have had since college that actually "teaches"
I took Spanish lessons with Sarah over the summer, and it was excellent. She helped me set up a plan of what I wanted to learn, when I wanted to learn, and how I wanted to learn. She recommended a mix of Latino music and other Spanish artists, in addition to preparing an assortment of worksheets and packets for me to complete and learn from. When we met (weekly or whenever worked, for whatever amount of time we had decided on the previous week), she would go over the competed worksheets with me, and help me improve upon anything I had missed or wanted to know more about. We met at a public library near her house for a few weeks, but moved to her home for a quieter location for conversational Spanish. She went above and beyond the usual 'worksheets and bookwork', by suggesting music and other things that greatly improved my learning experience, giving me more motivation to learn the language and excel in my studies. She was always prompt and arrived with all of her materials. I am continuing to study Spanish in school and plan on continuing lessons with her possibly next summer, or whenever I feel I need help from an outside source to learn the language to the best of my abilities.
Ana is my Spanish tutor for one on one private lessons. In addition to being a native speaker, she's also an experienced and talented teacher. She's an absolute pleasure to work with: communicative, professional, and friendly. Highly recommended.
I have only been working with José for a couple of weeks. But so far I am very happy. José has been very accommodating in arranging Spanish language lessons with. He is very professional with texts, and lessons planned, and is dedicated to teaching. He is going at a pace that matches my ability, and works continues to work on any particular topic, until I am confident that I understand before moving on.
About a year ago I needed help to better my Spanish. Abyl was recommended to me by a coworker. I was very satisfied with her service. After recurring to her I improved in my writing and reading I obtained a better and more open vocabulary
Regina does really well with children. Her ability to keep them focused during class is astounding. I 100% recommend Regina for German lessons for you or your child. You will learn a lot about the language and the culture!
I currently work as a youth advocate in the neighborhoods of Crown Hill and Ballard in Seattle, but on my free time I also teach one-on-one English, Spanish, and Soccer lessons. Among my credentials are a BA in psychology, multilingual understanding of Latin-derived languages, honorable mentions from soccer tournaments, as well as playing experience among national and international top levels.
Since I was a child, I have been interpreting for my parents and family members. In college, I received formal training in academic Spanish and have masters in Hispanic studies with a focus on Baroque Spanish Literature. I love the Spanish language and wish to share my joy and passion for this magnificent language either through translating, interpreting, editing, and/or giving Spanish classes. I am also DSHS certified to translate and interpret.
