Food was delicious, presentation was terrific for what could have appeared as a simple box lunch with nice packaging and a wide assortment of sides, salads, chips and desserts. Delivery was prompt and handled effortlessly by Emerald City staff. The chef made a nice and popular selection of sandwich and wrap assortment meats and vegetable. We were very pleased and hope to use their company May of 2017 for our annual spring event.
Chantel was delightful to work with. I needed a personal chef on very short notice and she was very responsive and professional. She offered many options before we decided on the perfect meal. She delivered on time and as promised. The food was delicious, healthy and made with the freshest ingredients. Thank you for outstanding results!
Nola catered our family-style wedding banquet with such flare and grace, we and our guests were in complete awe all through the meal. The food itself was phenomenally delicious; every bite was worth savoring. From her friendly, direct demeanor, to the cheerful staff, we couldn't have asked for a better experience. She pulled off the event with a comfortable elegance and practiced hand that fit our personal style just perfectly. Among many other notably considerate things, she even worked around the summer heat, keeping our individually-sized cakes out of the sun, and made sure iced beverages were available in ample quantities. Our guests still rave about her, and we can't help but agree. Even "behind the scenes," her prices were reasonable, and her estimates thorough. She was also very accommodating of our guests' serious food allergies when creating the menu. We are so appreciative of everything she did for us both before and after the event, and we look very much forward to having her at our next soiree!
The experience we all had with Bobby Greene was amazing from beginning to end. Throughout the entire process, he was very kind, accommodating, and, from what I hear, his food was divine. I would highly recommend him for any event. Frankly, if there were more stars, I would add them. But five will have to do. For my parents anniversary, I wanted to do something special. I ended up looking into private chefs and decided to put in a request to see what it would take to get this done. This option appealed to me as there is only one nice restaurant where my parents live and they go there every event. I wanted this to be something special for their 30th. Bobby Greene responded to my event request within hours with a bid and a very nice response on how he wanted to be a part of making their anniversary special. From that point forward, he personally helped me along the process and accommodated anything and everything I requested. I had never done anything like this before and had a lot of questions, all of which he answered readily. My mother was a bit picky when it came to the food, but he accommodated every request I had when putting the menu together. He was always very gracious and kind throughout the entire thing even when I thought I was being too pushy. He always made me feel welcome to ask questions and to make requests. I wasnt actually there for the experience, but I requested that my mother write a little excerpt about it so I could include in this review: Our youngest daughter surprised us with Bobby a private chef for our 30th anniversary. We found out when he showed up (we had the pre-warning of cleaning the house and wearing something nice). I felt very uncomfortable with the idea as we have an older home small kitchen and no dishwasher. But what was at first self-consciousness quickly gave way to Bobbys easygoing attitude. He made us feel at ease immediately with his warm, inviting personality. He let us set the ambiance. He could have stayed in the background for the romantic evening or be a part of it. He was so engaging though that we invited him into our evening. As he served each course, he explained what we were eating and how it was prepared. My husband and I met working in a restaurant 31 years prior so we were fascinated by the process. The food was delicious and I have to admit there were no leftovers! Though he is not a baker, he even made my favorite dessert a pineapple upside down cake and it was superb. My husband and I highlight recommend Bobby for any special occasion. He is truly talented; the food is prepared to perfection; and, he is very personable and engaging. We will always remember our 30th with great affection.
I am from Montreal visiting some friends in Seattle who had a baby a few weeks ago. As a gift to them we decided to hire a private chef to come in and cook a meal for us in their home so that we wouldn't have to worry about going out with a new born baby to a nice dinner. That is how I stumbled upon Thumbtack and Ken. Dinner was absolutely delicious and Ken is fantastic and very personable! Everything was such a breeze. He came up with a perfect menu and executed beautifully. If I could have him cook for me back home on a weekly basis I would! Thank you so much Ken you made the night a perfect one! Sami is one of the greatest chefs I could say I've ever had the pleasures of helping her actually(watching) her cook and serve others with great passion in her dishes as well serving her customers I've also had the pleasure of trying pretty much all her dishes so I can't really tell witch was the best because they were to good to judge you would have to try it for your self but I can say they were the best dishes I've ever tasted and she had a restaurant I would be a regular she great just know will not be disappointed thank and god bless.
Chef David Boyd- Private Chef-Down to Earth Cuisine "Delicious, organic, thoughtfully prepared and beautifully plated dishes"- On August 7th I hired Private Chef David Boyd to prepare an Italian Dinner for 10 in my home. (I had offered the "Italian Dinner for 8" as an auction item not knowing at the time who I would hire) He (and his lovely wife, also hired to assist him) arrived at 1pm to begin cooking for the 5:30pm event. Earlier in the week, we met to decide on the menu, appropriate tableware and wine/beverage pairings for the 5 course menu. We went with a Northern Italian theme featuring peaches because they were in season and seafood. I handled the purchase of the wine and cocktail ingredients but paid half of the per person food cost up front so that he could do all the grocery shopping which he did using local fish/meat stores and organically grown fruit and veggies from our area farmers market. He also arrived with all of his own knives and most utensils needed though he did use my mixing bowls and cookware. The entire meal was then prepared in our kitchen. Because he makes everything from scratch like croutons, mayonnaise, sugared garnish for the dessert etc. it is very time consuming, labor intensive and requires full use of your kitchen. He and his wife worked hard and fast for the 4.5 hours before guests arrived. They were conscientious and they cleaned and emptied the garbage etc. as they went. The result was delicious, organic, thoughtfully prepared and beautifully plated dishes that my husband and I were proud to serve to our guests. I would suggest discussing the estimated prep time for individual menu items as well as the per person cost ahead of time. Chef David seems capable of working within any reasonable budget, but he does require a lot of prep time if you choose complex menu items so that factors into his hourly rate. I think the dinner cost me more than what guests paid at the auction but that's totally my fault for not being more clear about my budget and for suggesting such complex ideas like an appetizer of scallops served in some sea shells I had. All in all, it was a very impressive, well paced, 5 course meal, and my guests enjoyed hearing Chef David explain the details of each delicious course as it was served. It was so nice to be able to just relax and enjoy my guests rather than stress about the food and clean-up. A really fun experience! Nichole put together a delicious birthday brunch menu for me and 5 of my girlfriends. The dishes she prepared were creative and fresh. For example the Mediterranean Cucumber Cups were a perfect appetizer, and the Mini Spinach & Feta Frittatas were a hit. Nichole also made a Chocolate Guinness Cake with Coconut Frosting that was a big hit at my party! She arrived on time and took care of the clean-up after everything was done. She's very detail-oriented and organized. Everything was perfect! I highly recommend Nichole to anyone who considers hiring a private chef for their event.

I have been a guest at several private dinner parties catered by Jen from the Salted Fig. These parties are by invitation only and promise a culinary journey you won't forget- and they deliver! Jen's menus are creative, cohesive, and absolutely delicious. The meals always feel so personal and nurturing, like she knew exactly what I wanted to eat, even though she is cooking for 20 of us. I work at a non profit that provides a Thanksgiving Dinner for the homeless ever year. Chef Charlie has been amazing in volunteering his time and skills to cook our Thanksgiving dinner for 200 plus marginalized people. Not only is his food delicious, but he brings such a joy to the kitchen. He is professional and able to direct all of the kitchen volunteers (some of which have never cooked before). Most importantly, during Thanksgiving he makes sure that everyone (no matter their life status) has the opportunity to have a 'fine dining' experience for Thanksgiving.
