What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The initial phone conversation is key to a successful project. I like to take time during the first call to get to know the client and understand their needs. I also like to make sure the client and I are both on the same page before the actual photo shoot.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I work with many local youth sports organizations providing team and individual pictures. I also work with many small to medium sized business providing headshots and commercial photography.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I recently had a Doctors Office call me and ask me about taking their headshots as well as a few shots of the Staff around the office. They were looking to update their website and couple of marketing materials. They had a staff member who "had a nice camera" but their marketing\website person came back to them and said "there is a reason why you hire a professional."
I quoted them an hourly fee to do headshots for all the staff and pictures of the Doctors using various pieces of medical equipment. We spent 3 hours for the session and I delivered 45 hi-resolution images that their marketing person loved.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
If you get a quote that is reasonable (not necessarily the cheapest) call the provider and discuss your project in a little more detail. Price doesn't make the provider the best option you also need to be comfortable with that person and a phone call goes a long way.
