About this pro

How does your business stand out?

As a Secular Humanist, I am dedicated to secular weddings. My services focus on the couple and the wedding they want to have. I specialize in non-traditional weddings and ceremonies. I am pretty open to any ideas you may have, so let's sit down and talk about how to make you special day truly special.

What do you enjoy about the work you do?

There is not a single wedding I have done that either the bride or groom hasn't teared up. Sometimes both. I feel overjoyed when I see two people profess their love. Even someone you would consider the most stoic of people can have a glimmer in their eyes . There is just something near magical about that.

Robert did a great job for our wedding. He let us read the script and suggest any edits we would like, which were few. It was a beautiful and moving ceremony, and we got several compliments on the poignant ceremony. Thank you!

Robert and his wife were very kind. They listened to what we wanted for our ceremony, were patient after the ceremony while we were being pulled in every direction by the photographer, family, and friends. They also completed our paperwork and sent our license in so we didn't have to worry about taking it to the courthouse. Thank you guys! Lichelle & Andrew

Robert was wonderful to work with. He listened to everything that we asked for and incorporated exactly what we wanted into a beautiful ceremony. He even worked in some silly, non-traditional things that we wanted added. He met with us and walked us through all the details. I would definitely recommend him to other couples getting married.

He did a wonderful job with our wedding, He and his wife were amazing! I would recommend him for anyone looking for a person who truly cares about the people they marry. He even went the extra mile to make sure we were happy with the script that he came up with, and helped us get inspiration for our vows. We couldn't have been happier with our choice!

Robert Ray did an amazing job! We were very happy with his delivery and choice of words! His snazzy bow ties are also amazing and fun! Both him amd his wife are very friendly and took the time to get to know us as a couple. I will be recommending them in the future!

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My general price is $250. This covers the initial meeting, unlimited electronic communication and the rehearsal.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to meet my clients in person and talk about the wedding they want to have. We will go over some script ideas and talk about additions and little tweaks to make the ceremony their own.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have attended the Council for Secular Humanism training on being a Humanist Wedding Officiant.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I saw a need for weddings that are not religiously based. I have been a public speaker for a few years and decided that I wanted to serve my community in a deeper role.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure you can meet the officiant before you commit to hiring them. Be open and honest with your expectations and don't be afraid to ask questions.
