Introduction: Joyful Piano Studio, located in Bellevue, WA near Redmond, Issaquah and Kirkland offers piano lessons specializing in ages 4 - 13 in a positive and encouraging learning environment. On a case-by-case basis, female students age 14 and older may also be accepted.

Ms. Elaine's unique approach produces students that create amazing sounds at the piano with great technique who also enjoy the process of learning to play the piano.
This is accomplished by not only teaching the important fundamentals of piano during lesson time, but also offering an incentive program, fun musical games, and iPad music apps to reinforce theory concepts and enhance learning during piano lessons.
Composition and improvisation are also encouraged to nurture the creative side of the developing musician.

My son and I have been working with Elaine for almost a year now. He was five years old when he started. She is a wonderful teacher who really knows how to work well with young children. She has a wide array of teaching tools at her disposal and uses them well. My son has been really enjoying his lessons, learning the proper way to play the piano and having lots of fun in the process.

Ms Elaine has been teaching my son for almost a year. Having not so good experience with previous piano teacher, my son started to dislike piano. Took a year break and decided to start with Ms Elaine. She is patient, correct mistakes at the right time so that kids doesn’t make a habit hard to break and encouraging. She makes class fun and engaging. I like that she goes fast if kid is grasping techniques faster and practicing well and slows down when kid struggles on some techniques. My son is motivated and look forward to go to piano lesson every week. Thanks Ms Elaine for teaching him.

Elaine is very patient with my daughter. My daughter loves to go to piano lessons because Elaine makes learning fun for kids. I would highly recommend her to anyone. She want kids to learn and is tough when she needs to be but wants them to have a good and fun experience as well.

Ms. Elaine is a wonderful teacher! She is patient, organized, and has great tips and ideas to help the kids learn. My son really liked her and enjoyed learning piano with her. I highly recommend her!
My son started taking lessons from her when he was in kindergarten. I have seen him grow consistently and considerably in his piano expertise over the past few years. Under her tutor-age he even attended public piano recitals and these went very well. You cannot get a better piano teacher in the Northwest!

6 months ago, we found Ms.Elaine right here with great reviews, now it’s our turn to share our experience with the community.
Ms.Elaine is not only teaching solid piano skills but also paying attention to kid’s manner/social skills during the interaction. Ms.Elaine’s kind and firm approach effectively train kid with good learning habit, which range from kid knowing class rules by heart, laying solid foundation for piano basics, empowering kid to own the responsibility of practicing, and encouraging kid to explore and even compose at young age. We really appreciate that Ms.Elaine could keep the perfect balance of firm about expectation and standard, while presenting to kid in a kind and encouraging way. Getting the right hand shape was not easy for our 5yr old, who even wanted to give up since she got frustrated with herself. But thanks to Ms.Elaine, we made it through and she now really enjoying playing piano and even started to figure out the notes for familiar tunes herself. Joyful studio is indeed a great place to help kid to learn music with joy, great quality and high standard. Ms.Elaine will meet student where they are with the right challenge every step of the way.
